Levende Kunst

It’s funny where some Google searches can lead. I was looking for more information about the owner of the chic coat closet and ended up on a Dutch website called Knack with some very chic interieurs! The Google translation leaves something to be desired but from what I can make out, it’s owned by San […]

Most people think of Palm Beach when they think of a Florida getaway but those who are serious about horses live in Wellington and Kelly Klein is no different. Her Wellington home was featured in the May 2007 issue of Elle Decor and is yet another example of her clean and chic style. Of course, […]

Kelly Klein at Home

All the talk about Kelly Klein’s new book Horse had me thinking about her homes. Kelly is one of the most effortlessly chic women in New York so it is no surprise that her decor is also effortlessly chic. Her Upper West Side New York apartment was featured in the October 2008 issue of Town […]

*&%#

I apologize if I haven’t responded to an your email or comment but I have been dealing with a nasty computer virus since Friday. The one that redirects your Google searches. Not fun. I am also leaving today for an installation in The Hamptons. I have uploaded some posts so hopefully you will have something […]

Chic Coat Closet

I found this chic closet while looking through concept images at work. I have no idea where it’s from so if anyone knows, please do tell. I love it when people decorate private spaces like closets and bathrooms. It’s like a little secret. Also looks like something Hollister and Porter might do someday…if they haven’t […]

Starting today, the Charlotte Moss Townhouse will prepare for it’s November 25th closing by offering 50% off antiques and 70% off new pieces. Perfect timing for the holidays although, I will be sad to see them close. It’s such a beautiful store! I just hope it doesn’t become something depressing now like a BabyGap!

Sara Story Design

Sara Story‘s room at the Kips Bay Designer Show House this year was one of my favorites and I felt an immediate affinity for her after reading her 1stdibs Style Compass interview since so many of her answers mirrored my own. I was checking out her website recently and noticed some new photos in her […]

Art Smart

I often worry about the future of art and that parents might encourage their children to become doctors or lawyers or bankers…well, maybe not bankers anymore…instead of fostering their love of art. So I like to support anyone who has made a career out of their passion and become an artist and now you can […]

Gimme Shelter

The dearth of American shelter magazines has forced me to buy from abroad…ok, no one was pointing a gun at my head but I do get withdrawal symptoms if I don’t have something new to flip through, so today I picked up the September 2008 issue of Maison Française. I wasn’t even convinced I was […]

I saw the bedroom above in our office concept files and loved the mix of dark walls, ivory trim and yellow doors with the pop of red from the lamp. It reminded me of a Mondrian painting. It wasn’t labeled but I was excited to find out today that the designer in question is Thad […]

Downtown with David

This past Saturday was a beautiful day in more ways than just the weather. I had the pleasure of spending it with my favorite Kansas City resident, David Jimenez! David actually grew up in New York and if Ron Marvin and I have our way, we’re going to figure out a way for him to […]

I swear Duane Reade had their Christmas decorations up even before the Halloween candy was out. The race to be the first annoys me every year. I like to finish one holiday before I begin the next but there is no getting away from the holiday catalogs which is why I especially loved the Neue […]

Ghostly White

There is something about white pumpkins that I am loving this year which is funny since orange is my favorite color. I bought a few for my apartment and used them to decorate for the party last weekend. The smaller ones are especially cute and will look nice displayed until Thanksgiving. I wish I was […]

Witch or Sexy Kitten?

I didn’t really love the Sex and the City movie but I did love it when Miranda declared that they only costumes for women were witch or sexy kitten. I’m not dressing up this year. Mostly because I don’t feel like going out to a bar and competing for attention with 21 year olds wearing […]

HORSE

Leave it to the chicest woman to put together the chicest book and hold the launch party at the chicest store. Last week, Kelly Klein launched her new book Horse from Rizzoli at the Hermes store and it is seriously the most fabulous book of the season. Even if you haven’t ridden a horse in […]

United We Stand

I have always wanted to go on a tour of the United Nations but have just never gotten around to it so when I discovered a book entitled The U.N. Building in my office last Thursday, I was beyond excited. Then I found out that October 24th of every year is United Nations Day. Talk […]
