Chic Coat Closet

I found this chic closet while looking through concept images at work. I have no idea where it’s from so if anyone knows, please do tell. I love it when people decorate private spaces like closets and bathrooms. It’s like a little secret. Also looks like something Hollister and Porter might do someday…if they haven’t already!

UPDATE: Thanks to my savvy readers, we’ve figured out that the home belongs to Belgian minimalist architect Vincent Van Duysen which is funny because it doesn’t look like the closet of a minimalist or maybe the rest is minimal since he hides all his art in the closet!

It’s from a home in Belgium. I have it in a back issue of Elle Decoration UK. I’ll dig it out this weekend and find more info. The rest of the house is amazing. Great blog btw!

I think this was in Domino a few years ago…

I know I’ve seen that image before – I think from an old Vogue Living. If memory serves me right its a Belgian architect, but his name escapes me at the moment. If I can track down the details I’ll let you know!

I think this came from Elle Decor, but quite a while ago. If I remember well it was from a house in Belgium! I’ll look thru my back issues and see if I can find out more!

Very interesting! If he keeps all that gorgeous art in the closet, i have to wonder what he displays in the public spaces of his home! anybody have pictures of that??? Would be neat to see if there are even more spectacular art works on display..

Excuse the Rachel Zoe reference, but that closet is bananas! I love it!

Thanks for all the great feedback. I hope someone finds the article so we can see the rest of the home. I can’t can’t picture it being minimal if the closet is so fabulous and cozy!

I’m off to the Hamptons for an installation but will definitely be checking my email and posting reader comments.

I love this! I would spend alot more time in a closet if I had a walk in like this. Perhaps when the girls go to college I will commandere a room!

This closet is from a series of photos of a three-story family home in Bruges, Belgium, featured in Vogue living from June/July 2003. Its the work of Belgian architect Vincent Van Duysen (whose work I love).
