Witch or Sexy Kitten?

I didn’t really love the Sex and the City movie but I did love it when Miranda declared that they only costumes for women were witch or sexy kitten. I’m not dressing up this year. Mostly because I don’t feel like going out to a bar and competing for attention with 21 year olds wearing little to no clothing. So tell me what you’re dressing up as this year. Maybe it will inspire me for next year! Happy Halloween!

No costume this year. All the friends have gotten married with kids &no one wants to do the halloween thing with adults. So Sad. 🙁

I’m taking Halloween seriously this year – I’ll be portraying Sarah Palin for the Marketing department’s costume contest this year, and I expect to win 🙂 Yes, I have the glasses, I’ve practiced the pouf & I’ve got that accent down! I will admit that in my college years I might have played a sexy kitten or even sexy sailor, but it’s time for politics! Enjoy your Halloween & keep up the fab blogging!

    XOXO

Dark grimm fairy tale style red riding hood. No skanky costumes for me thank you very much.

Mirandas comment only applies for those who buy their costumes off the rack 🙂

I am not “dressing up” for Halloween in a costume. I am wearing a cute black dress, black pumps and tying a pumpkin colored satin ribbon into a bow around my waist as a belt. It’s festive without being obnoxious and I can wear it from work to my very adult Halloween activity- a murder mystery dinner on a train. It is going to be a great night!

haha I totally agree with how women tend to either be a witch or sexy kitten for halloween…
I was thinking about doing Sarah Palin or Rachel Zoe. LOL
just cus I can’t think of anything better. haha

No dressing up for me. But for anyone interested in the history of Halloween costumes, there is a great book on the subject which I wrote about on Sunday.

PS — loved the horse post. Sent it to all my horsey friends.

You took the words right out of my mouth!! Completely agree.

I am attending our office Halloween party in my “George Michael – 25 Live” t-shirt and jeans. That’s the scary thing…. George Michael fans look like everyone else.

I hear ya! I hate all of the tacky, trampy halloween costumes for women. I won’t be dressing up this year.

Supergirl. have the kids & am still doing it. was able to convince a bunch of friends to get a limo & go out as the “Justice League.” It might be the cheesiest day of the year but I still love it.

I dressed up yesterday for an event and I was dressed as a HIPPIE from the 60’s. I was startled to find that I put together my complete costume from my CLOSET!! Think it is time to clean out my closet, don’t you? LOL

I just watched that movie again and I love that part- cracks me up because its so true! Anyway, I’m with you- not dressing up this year…its no fun to not be as cute as the 21 year olds anymore 🙂

I’m Audrey Hepburn this year, how can you not look cute…all you need is a classic black dress, gloves, long cigarette holder, and beaufont hair plus the sunglasses! (not sure about the spelling of that).

I agree off the rack is just tacky…

We’re having a party where the costume theme is “Your Biggest Fear”, there will be a bevy of costumes from trekkies, a black hole, pigeons, and a pregnant woman!

    “I’m a mouse. Duh!”

Actually no idea and I need to figure it out and fast because Halloween is a big deal in the city. No slutty wear for this girl, come on its 30 degrees and trashy. Either that or lock myself in and make some fun new pillows or something.

“In the regular world, Halloween is when children dress up in costumes and beg for candy. In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when a girl can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it. The hard-core girls just wear lingerie and some form of animal ears.” mean girls

I’ll be going as a bride of frankenstien/ghoul character tonight, to a small party with close friends. That’s my speed these days. I bought a pair of fishnet stockings to wear under the skirt of the outfit that won’t show- just a bit of fun for me! 😉
Happy and safe Hallowe’en to everyone!

    Lightning Victim

Silver glitter lightning bolt worked into a big messy wig, black eyes “shocked” makeup, shirt with burnt bolt hole in the back, and bonus lights – still electrified.

    I was Waldo’s girlfriend Wilma.

You could host a masked dinner party next year and then you get to decide who you’ll see.

    🙂

I totally agree with Miranda. That is why I decided to go as a penguin this year. Even though I was just going to a house party, I wanted to be somewhat comfortable(last year my costume forced me to stand the whole night) I also wanted a costume that was funny- not scary, or sexy.
