Take Me Away!

02 . 05 . 09

The temperature in New York today was 5 degrees with the wind chill and I’ve had enough. I’m ready to pack my bag and run away! I’ll probably just end up going to Los Angeles to visit friends but where I really want to go is St. Barths. I’d love nothing more than to sit on a beach in the warm sunshine for a week while a lovely cabana boy brings me diet cokes and spritzes me with coconut scented suntan lotion. Maybe I’d get up for yoga. Of course for it to be a truly dream getaway, I would have have to stay at the Hotel St. Barth Isle de France with it’s simple yet elegant beachy decor by interior designer Penny Morrison. Anyone want to come?

Count me in! If I have to scrape snow from my windshield one more time I may just burst! This truly feels like the longest winter ever… The hotel. Gorgeous. You know that.. My favorite room by far is the first bedroom.. with all the white… And the terry cloth robes at the foot of the bed adorned with flowers? Perfect.

Pack your bags! Let’s go! I don’t normally do beach like getaways…but the mention of the boys bringing Diet Cokes sold me!
I really like the bathroom shot…with the prints on the wall and the great tub and fountain view.

Love Isle de France. I stayed there a few years ago before kids… it was a dream come true and I can’t wait to go back as soon as babes are ready for the long trek from Italy to St. Barths!

I absolutely love that bathroom – looks as if it had been transported from ancient times (curently writing about Minoan culture on my German blog) – but this reminds me very much of the Minoan “interior style”!
    Fantastic.

Wow, love that hotel. One of the first projects I worked on was a vacation home for a client in St. Barths -never got to do a site visit though :-(. The site photos always made me drool!
And where else could you ever see Martha Stewart in a bathing suit!

Oh my god…TO DIE FOR. I feel your pain with this weather…I can’t deal anymore! Funny, I too am escaping to CA rather than my dream island.

These are the times that I was super wealthy because I would pick all of you up and take you to my private island like Richard Branson! I think we all need some sun and fun and warmth! Glad I’m not the only who’s tired of winter!

its raining in LA so this place looks heavenly….

  20. Rainy in Los Angeles February 6, 2009 | 6:43 pm

I don’t advise L.A. this week. It’s raining heavily and we have a few more storms coming down the pike. Temps should be in the 50s all week. (People forget that it DOES rain and sometimes even snow in L.A.) We’re not all sunny, fake and chirpy!

What a lovely and romantic getaway! I love all the pink and red small accents. Gorgeous!

  22. TheDecoDetective February 12, 2009 | 6:27 pm

Yes please! I’d stay in that delightful bathroom for a day or so to thaw (I live in Norway) before sleeping one night in each of those lovely rooms!
