A French Folie

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Sally Perrin of Perrin Paris in her beautiful apartment designed by French interior designer Chahan Minassian. While I was there, she and her daughter Chloe told me about the family’s former house in Normandy. They loved it but decided to sell because they rarely used it after they moved to Los Angeles from Paris. While checking Instagram this weekend, I saw party photos on JJ Martin‘s feed of a chic little home in Normandy that was hosting someone’s 40th birthday party. When I Googled the name of the house, Manoir Saint-Calais, guess who it used to belong to?  The New York Times ran a whole story on the Perrin’s home when it was for sale in 2011 with photos.  According to everyone, it looks like a miniature chateau but there is nothing little about the design.  Sally mentioned her love of the French auction house Drouot and the article mentions that much of the pieces were found at the French auction house. It’s always sad when you move on from a place that gave you so many happy memories but from look of the Instagram photos, it’s giving happy memories to its new owners and their friends.
An old post card of the Manoir Saint-Calais I found online.
