01 . 28 . 10One of my readers mentioned magazines as something that makes them happy and I have to agree! Right now, the March 2010 cover of ELLE DECOR is making me very happy! Those blue walls are gorgeous and I can’t wait to get the issue see the rest!
UPDATE: I was overjoyed with excitement when I found this issue on sale today in New York and I can tell you that it’s just as spectacular as I imagined! It’s probably one of my favorite issues in a long time! Hope you get your copy soon!

I posted about this yesterday too! Isn’t it just divine?! I’m in love with everything—the blue walls, the blooms, the artwork. Nate Berkus and Anne Coyle really outdid themselves! Can’t wait for it to arrive in my mailbox…!

Kate – I was just leaving you a comment at the same time you were leaving me one! Too funny! I am loveing that blue and will be stalking the newsstand until I find the issue. I have no patience for the mailman anymore!
BEAUTIFUL room… very inspired for my own living room… eps that cluster of artwork on the wall and that round table in the corner – gorge!
I feel like I’ve been seeing a lot of blue lately, and I love it! it brings this great calming effect to a room but also adds that pop up color.
I haven’t gotten my issue yet! I swear the postal workers read them first!
Elizabeth – I am finding it very inspirational as well, especially with the hits of pink.
Dweller-Carly – this is a very sophisticated blue that is definitely not boring!
Casey – Don’t worry, I don’t have the actual issue yet either. I do sometimes wonder if my mail carrier doesn’t want to carry all the heavy magazines and waits for a lighter mail day to deliver them!
Heather — This is why we’re pals. Chances are I won’t be able to wait for the mailman either. I’ll literally end up with five copies if I don’t restrain myself. You MUST use the blue in one of your projects and then share the images! I just know you’d find some fantastically chic way to make it your own. XOXO Kate
Elle Decor is one of my favorite magazines! Can’t wait to see the rest either!
i’ve also been obsessed with dark blue walls lately. can’t wait to see this issue!
Magazines featuring Nate Berkus def. make me feel happy too. Wish I could cozy up with that right now as I sit here snowed in…
I’ve seen it. It’s fabulous!
I think it was me that mentioned the magazines! 🙂 I’m a TOTAL addict, and on my way to get that copy tomorrow!
Heather – When you get your copy, will you share with us who makes the occasional chair shown in the room? Thanks!
I’m trying to cut down on the stacks of magazines I buy every month but the many frames on this fantastic cover tells me This particular one is an inevitable buy! Still loving walls that are bravely hung with varying pieces of art & still procrastinating with my own!
Me too, that cover looks divine! Happy Weekend!
I love this room–the mix is perfect. No more minimalism here.
Hi Heather,
That is one of my favorite wall color. I can’t wait to have this issue in my hands.
Love the blue walls, too.
I’ve been so distracted this week that although I received this issue of ED in the mail on Monday I haven’t had time to open yet! And how is it even possible that I received the issue here in Toronto before everyone in NYC? Weird. But good for me 😉
I am in love with that cover! I hope my issue arrives soon! That is the worst part of the subscription, waiting….so tempting to pop into the bookstore but so worth the wait to absorb at home page by page!!
I like this blue living room much more than the Stephen Gambrel ones we’ve been seeing of late. It’s warmer, cozier, more liveable in my mind. Thanks so much for bringing it to our attention!
Interesting the way the art looks so good on these blue walls. The crisp white mats are probably why, but it has all been skillfully hung. Important to have a white/off-white ceiling though.
Blue is a “receding” color, which makes the room look larger.
Loving the blue, pink and gold!
