High Point Highlights
by habituallychic
10 . 21 . 09I’m back from my first trip to the High Point Furniture Market and I had an amazing time! I am exhausted but exhilarated and inspired! I owe a big thank you to Furniture Brands for allowing me this wonderful opportunity! It was fun to meet the other bloggers on the trip, Cassandra from Coco + Kelly, Paloma from La Dolce Vita, and the life of the party, Franki from Life in a Venti Cup, and her better half, Jim. Of course, the best part was meeting the amazing designers in town including Bill Sofield and Thomas O’Brien, as well as seeing the lovely Suzanne Kasler again. One of the main highlights for me was meeting Alexa Hampton who was debuting her new pieces at Hickory Chair! We were seated next to each other at dinner Monday night and I had a great time talking design and life with her! Alexa has the best personality and is so passionate about her collection that it was hard to get a photo of her in focus when she was walking us through the showroom this morning! She really knows her stuff and it clearly shows! I loved everything! I can’t wait to go though all my photos and share all the highlights with you but right now I’m off to bed so I can recover from all the fun! Bon nuit!

Sounds amazing! Looking forward to seeing more pics! Tracey xx
How very exciting! I can’t wait to read more about it!
Those empire tub chairs paired with the bone inlaid table are to die for. The quality of the figuring of the veneer work is outstanding; no wonder Alexa is so passionate about her collection. Mary
I’m sure you have blisters on your feet. Thanks for giving us an update on your trip. Always amazing to be around others that love what you love.

How lucky of you to have spent time with the very talented Alexa Hampton! She is one of our favorites and we were thrilled when she asked to have some of our faux floral bouquets in her area at Hickory Chair. We look forward to reading more about yoru trip!
I agree with Jones about the empire chairs. I wish I could see them better. Any chance you have a view from the front side? Ahh, look how it has a protruding arm rest. Decadent!
I would have been there!!!!
Seems so exciting!

Heather-
I’m glad you had a nice time at High Point. I have always thought about going, but was never sure if it would be worth it.
I would love to hear more about Alexa Hampton. She is someone I would love to meet, and I still hold great esteem for her late father!
Thanks for the update.
Best,
