Island Life

I need a vacation. And if I had known earlier that you could rent out The Guest House and Cricket Pavilion on India Hick’s propoerty Hibiscus Hill on Harbour Island, I would have thought about planning a trip sooner. They both look heavenly. Instead I will make do by drooling over all the photos in her book, Island Life, and wishing I was there. Sigh.

The white floors in the lower photos make such a wonderful fresh punctuation point in the room… it’s amazing what a difference they make in the feel of the room. I love the picture of India Hicks in the backless gown with her kids – it conveys how at home she is in her glamorous life!

i went to Harbour Island last year and stayed at The Landing, which was designed by india hicks. the decor was just so elegant but at the same time easy and comfortable for an island lifestyle. i love all the little plantation home touches!
