The House that Juicy Built

I never quite get as much done as I think I will over the weekend which includes cleaning out my old magazines. I was trying to get rid of the ginormous September fashion mags to make room for the November issues that are already arriving but I only managed to go through a few. Luckily, one of them was Bazaar where I forgot there was a fashionable life feature on the Beverly Hills home of Pamela Skaist-Levy, one of the founders of Juicy Couture. It’s funny how that house is so different from her Malibu beach house seen here. It was also featured in Bazaar in 2005 and was one of my favorite spreads. I especially love the blue and Murano glass that she has collected from all over including eBay. (A girl after my own heart.) I also like what she has to say on home design, “Creating interiors goes hand in hand with fashion. I love how colors affect each other. Turquoise is magic with the ocean.” It may be turning cold in New York but this house definitely has me dreaming of the beach!

I feel your pain re: culling the monthly magazine load. Love your blog, btw. Looks like you’re putting those photos to good use by sharing them with everyone. Many thanks! 🙂

Just goes to show that collecting and being true to one color can pay off and develop a good habit.
    Lovely post as always.

This is one of those houses I am almost embarrassed to love because of the association with terry cloth track suits. Despite that, I would wear one everyday if I could have this beach house as my own.

An Xiao, I was wondering if she actually uses ebay or if she has an assistant do it 😉

Brilliant Asylum – I completely understand but they do have good taste. Funny how I’ve seen the founders in Chanel and Hermes but no track suits!

I’m glad I’m not the only one behind on finishing the september fashion issues & trying to squeeze them into the weekend. Thank goodness I can read them on the eliptical machine. Thanks for sharing all the great images. As an interior designer I love being exposed to every blogger’s perspective because it keeps expanding my design eye.
