I haven’t shopped at Banana Republic much lately except to peruse the costume jewelry. I find everything else has too much “bedazzling” but it looks like they got the memo to to lighten up and return to the classics. Their new advertising campaign might make me rethink my ban on Banana. Just hope the clothes look as good in the stores as they do on Carolyn Murphy!

I, too, was happy to see a return to classics.
The biggest shocker was the new handbags. Lovely (at least in the photos I saw online). The have done a crappy job with leather bags for a couple years. I think they are starting to get it.

I too broke up with Banana Republic about 2 years ago….they are so BORING! Seriously, with all the fabulous and fun clothing at J.Crew and Tory Burch, who needs another boring cardigan twin set in navy blue, or another pair of boring grey pants? Yes, the photos are nice this season, but I fear yet another snooze of a season from BR.
If I tell you my Banana Luxe card has had a zero balance for most of the past 3+ years that will give you an idea of what a disappointment they are to me.
Wouldn’t it be GREAT if some design genius went in there and rescued them? Lord knows they need a miracle to turn that yawn fest around.

they do have some pretty great pieces in their fall line. i did a mini post on it too!

I also sat up with interest when I saw the ad campaign. So sleek. So slick. A wonderful way to reinvigorate interest in the brand. I hope the product is as good is being sold to us!

I dropped by yesterday and its all just as beautiful in person. I was afraid it would look cheap or too “done” but it wasn’t. The BR card may find its way back into my wallet soon….
