Counter Space

I am excitedly marking my calendar for the opening of Counter Space: Design and the Modern Kitchen which opens at The Museum of Modern Art on September 15, 2010. As you can see from the photo of a kitchen in Frankfurt circa 1926, kitchen design has come a long way. Kitchens used to be relegated […]

Tory Burch just posted photos of her new freestanding boutique in Seoul, South Korea. I love how it looks more like a home than a store. When I first saw the photo above, I actually thought it was Tory’s home! I am definitely going to have to find out if where to find that fabric […]

As I mentioned, the Veuve Cliquot Polo Classic took place this past weekend on Governor’s Island in New York. My vote for best dressed goes to Veronica Webb in Rachel Roy. It was extremely hot and she looks divinely cool! I love it! Maybe I should try a hat instead of a scarf!

Chic in the Heat

“Sex appeal is fifty percent what you’ve got and fifty percent what people think you’ve got.” – Sophia Loren I love this photo of and quote by Sophia Loren. It’s been so insufferably hot and humid in New York lately that I’m having trouble feeling chic. I wish I could wear a scarf on my […]

I’ve shopping Serena & Lily for nurseries and children’s rooms for years so I was very excited when they expanded to adult sized bedding. They didn’t just expand on the linens though. You can now buy furniture, paint, pillow, rugs, and more! For those who don’t have a designer and need a little help, you […]

Portrait of a Rider

When I was researching my last post on Equestrian Chic, I came across an interesting book entitled The Private Passion of Jackie Kennedy Onassis: Postrait of a Rider. Jackie started riding at a very young age as you can see by some of the photos here and continued to ride with her own children. She […]

Equestrian Chic

One of my readers asked me if I had any advice on how to display a saddle in a home. I could only come up with one photo of a saddle sitting on a stair banister since I think most riders keep their saddles in the tack room. I did however find lots of homes […]

Tomorrow is the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Governor’s Island which will I’m sure attract throngs of girls trying to catch a glimpse of Nacho Figueras (above) and Prince Harry. If you can’t attend this fabulous event, then I suggest you pick up Polo: The Nomadic Tribe, the stunning book by photographer Aline Coquelle. Usually […]

There is nothing I love more than wandering around a book store searching for a story that is as compelling as its cover and Parisians: An Adventure History of Paris is one of my new favorite finds. Some of the Parisians are famous such as Marie Antoinette and Charles de Gaulle while others could be […]

I want to go to there.

I was lucky enough to find a copy of the new July/August issue of Elle Decor at my local newsstand this weekend and boy is it a good one. As soon as I saw the home of John Dransfield and Geoffrey Ross, all I could think of were the immortal words of Liz Lemon, “I […]

Hot Town

We dream all winter for summer weather to arrive and then we complain about it when it does. But in our defense, it really has been hot and steamy in New York this week. I don’t want to wish summer away but really I am looking forward to fall when I can wear chic outfits […]

Eat Pray Love

In keeping with the Italian theme I seem to have going on, I thought I would remind everyone that Eat Pray Love will be released on August 13th. For the two people who don’t know about Eat Pray Love, the movie which stars Julia Roberts, is based on the best selling book of the same […]

The Italian Touch

I always joke that the Italian tourists are always the best dressed and the book Italian Touch definitely backs up my assertions. Tod’s commissioned the book that includes over 100 Italian families and their homes but you don’t even notice the product placement. Everyone is elegant and chic yet completely casual and relaxed. What’s amazing […]

I saw the Italian film I Am Love this past weekend and it was as gorgeous as I thought it would be. I’m not sure the actual story will appeal to everyone but it’s worth seeing for the beautiful interiors. The Recchi family live in Milan in a fabulous villa that is actually the Villa […]

Thom Filicia Fabrics

I told you that there are a lot of exciting things going on this summer and this time it’s Thom Filicia‘s new fabric line for Kravet. I had the pleasure of attending the press preview last month and Thom was kind enough to pose with his fabulous new fabrics! He’s so funny! The first thing […]

DVF Home Collection

Usually summer is a quiet time when not much happens but that’s not the case this year! There are so many exciting developments in the design world and one of my favorites is Diane von Furstenberg‘s new home collection. I had the pleasure to see her fabulous collaboration with Springs Global last week and was […]

Bella in Barcelona

Since it’s Father’s Day, I thought I would post something a little more masculine. I came across this amazing home and studio in Spanish AD a few months ago and have been salivating over it ever since. It belongs to designer Lázaro Rosa-Violán and is located in Barcelona. He has designed the interiors for more […]
