Secondhand Chic

I don’t know what I love more about Vaunte, the secondhand treasures from some of the city’s chicest women or the photos of them in their equally chic homes.  Actually, the best is finding your sartorial soul mate who wears the same size in shoes.  Happy shopping and bon weekend! Thanks Aerin!

Big thanks to my style and business idol Aerin Lauder for including me on her list of twitter accounts to follow during fashion week! I love being sandwiched between NY1 Weather, very important to follow when getting dressed each day, and legendary fashion designer Michael Kors.  Twitter:NY1 Weather: @NY1WeatherHeather Clawson: @HabituallyChicMichael Kors: @MichaelKorsInstagram:Carolyn Murphy: @CarolynMurphyLauren Santo Domingo: @TheLSD While I […]

Chic at Chanel

I wasn’t invited to Scotland for the Chanel Metiers d’Art show at Linlithgow Palace in December but I was invited to the New York showroom to see the pre-fall 2013 collection recently.  We all know Chanel is known for its amazing textiles and embroidery but you can’t appreciate it until you see it up close.  My favorite pieces […]

I missed seeing interior designer Nathan Turner‘s new store when I was in Los Angeles last year so it was at the top of my list this trip.  As I mentioned, it was even more special because I was able to chat with him for an hour before he was off to New York for […]

When I visited Los Angeles last year, I stayed a big “too cool for school” hotel where I felt like no one cared who I was or how I was doing.  That’s why on this trip, I decided to stay at the Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills again.  I stayed at the hotel three years ago […]

LA in a Nutshell

I arrived back in New York in the wee hours Monday morning and awoke to find it snowing.  Makes me wish I had stayed in LA.  While it rained there a few days, Saturday and Sunday turned out to be sunny and beautiful which was a relief.  I’m currently editing all my photos for blog […]

Sunny Days

They say it only rains in Los Angeles a few days a year.  Seems they are all falling during my trip this week.  There are actually a lot of us in town from NYC and we’re trying to remember that a rainy warm day in LA is better than a 12 degree day which is […]

Viceroy Revisited

It was exactly one year ago this week that I was having fun in the sun at the Viceroy Anguilla.  As excited as I am to be off to LA, I wouldn’t mind heading back to this Caribbean paradise. They say on the island that almost everyone who visits will return.  If the white sand […]

Going Back to Cali

I picked the absolute best week to visit LA.  When I leave for the airport Wednesday morning, it should feel like -3 degrees in New York and when I arrive in California, it should be almost 80 degrees.  Jealous?  You should be!  Ha!  Just kidding!  I’d take you all along if I could. I’m heading […]

Fab Finds

In an age when there are a million online shops and flash sale sites, I love that Fab is a fabulous destination for one stop shopping. They have vintage and new products for men, women, children, pets, your home…you name it, they’ve got it.  These are just a few of my new favorite Fab finds. […]

I was saddened to hear that legendary French interior designer Andrée Putman passed away in Paris Saturday at the age of 87.  She might be best know here in New York for designing the Morgans Hotel for Steve Rubell and Ian Schrager but she also designed many spaces and products in her famous minimalist style. I posted […]

Paule Ka in Palm Beach

It’s freezing in New York right now and I would give anything to be in Palm Beach like Hilary Rhoda in the spring 2013 Paule Ka ads.  It was shot by Venetia Scott at the Southways estate and is channeling the chic 1960’s. You can watch a cute behind the scenes video here too.

Before you head over to Circolo on Bond Street, make sure you stop into Paula Rubenstein‘s new venue.  You may remember her old legendary shop on Prince Street. It was so jammed packed with treasures that I thought I was going to break something every time I entered.  When the landlord tripled her rent, she quietly […]

Chic in NY: Circolo

When my friend Abigail Jorgensen asked if I wanted to come downtown and check out a new Italian restaurant for which she is doing public relations, I immediately said yes.  The restaurant in question, Circolo is located on my favorite street in all of Manhattan, Bond Street, so I really couldn’t say no.  If you’ve […]

Simplicity

Fashion week is coming up soon and I’m not looking forward to all the crazy colorful street style characters looking for attention.  Right now, I’m inspired by a return to black and white simplicity (with a little grey thrown in as usual).  That’s not to say I’m anti-color but I like it used as an […]

Flower Power

The only thing that gets me through winter in New York are warm weather trips and fresh flowers. You can buy blooms at almost every corner bodega so it’s cheap and easy to arrange them in every room.  They’re the best pick me on a grey day like today.  Photo by me from instagram.

There were a few themes of the 2013 Golden Globes: the flu, post-baby bodies, and odes to Angie’s right leg.  The popular colors ranges from red to black and lots of blush.  There really wasn’t anyone who stole the show but here are a few of my favorites.   Jennifer Lawrence won for Silver Linings […]
