Fall Transitional Outfits

Even though we just got out of a heat wave, I’ve already been shopping for fall. I always joke that if you’re not sweating when you’re buying a coat, you’re doing it wrong because by the time you actually need one, they will be sold out. I’ve put together a few transitional outfits for fall using some of the pieces I own and items you could with which you could pair then. A lot of things can be mixed and matched too.

I love warm tones and textures textures for fall like this Suede Western Jacket.

Fall is all about layering pieces like this ribbed silk and cashmere-blend tank. It’s also available in a cream color.

I always switch out my necklaces in the fall to chunkier gold chains like this gold-plated necklace. They pair better with heavier fabrics and silhouettes.

You don’t have to put away your white jeans like these cropped high-rise straight-leg jeans but you do need to pair them with neutrals instead of brights for the transition to fall.

I already bought these Loewe Flow Runner Padded Low-Top Sneakers in a neutral shade for fall. They are insanely comfortable but I’ve only worn them around my apartment so far since it’s been 90 degrees every day.

I Iove tan leather accessories to transition to fall too. It’s a great shade that pairs with a lot of colors. This Celine Medium Cabas in Textile and Calfskin would be a great bag if you have to go back to the office in September.

Instead of school supplies, I ordered a bunch of new makeup and tools for myself today. It’s almost time to start doing our face and hair again so I want to be prepared with this Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Natural Eyeshadow Palette.

This chic cashmere-blend midi dress is a versatile piece that can be worn as a dress or a long cardigan in the fall. It would even make a great item in which to travel.

Last week, I bought this gold plated cable necklace because the sale price of $42 was too good to pass up. I love that the clasp looks nice too which isn’t always the case on gold plated jewelry.

It can stay very warm through October in New York and other cities. You can definitely still wear sandals as long as they are in colors and and materials that look more fall appropriate like these buckled suede sandals. I also a prefer a sandal with thicker straps so your foot isn’t overexposed. You can find a great tan suede heeled sandal here.

I bought this Celine Small Bucket Cuir Triomphe in Smooth Calfskin last November and I still love it. The tan color works well with my fall dresses as well as my taupe and charcoal grey coats.

I’ve been wearing my Hermes stainless steel H heure watch with the blue leather strap a lot this summer because it’s been too hot to wear any other jewelry. For all, I love a gold watch on a tan or brown strap that looks good with silk blouses and cashmere sweaters. This Cartier Baignoire 1920 Watch is the perfect example.

Drier weather means dry hands so I just ordered this new Chanel Hydrating and Fortifying Cuticle Oil. I actually bought two so I can have one on my desk and one in my bag. I also ordered the new Chanel Fortifying, Protecting and Smoothing Base Coat for when I do my own nails in between manicures.

You can’t go wrong with a cotton army green jacket as a transition piece in the fall since it layers over anything.

I finally learned my lesson about not jumping the gun by sweating in cashmere sweaters too soon in the season. So I’m always on the look out for lighter transitional pieces like this Oversized Silk Blend Top that has an elevated sweatshirt look. It’s also available in navy which would be perfect to pair with white jeans.

This shade of blue cropped high-rise straight-leg jeans is perfect for autumn.

I own these Shearling Birkenstock Sandals and they are truly the perfect fall transitional shoe to wear with jeans.

If you are looking for the “it bag” of the fall, this medium suede tote is it. Get it before it’s gone. It’s also available in black. A less expensive option in tan suede is this suede bucket bag.

This Clé de Peau Concealer is the Rolls Royce of concealers. It’s expensive but lasts forever. And I mean at least a year if not longer if you only use it under your eyes. I didn’t even need a new tube but I wanted to have a spare to throw into the pouch I move from bag to bag in case I need it while I’m out and about in the city. I wear Beige but it’s available in 12 different shades.

Mille always has the best patterned dresses for fall. I can’t wait to wear this Marlo Dress in Montmartre dress the day after Labor Day, if not before. The print is also available in other styles including a shorter dress.

If I didn’t already own pearl drop earrings, I’d treat myself to these 14-karat gold pearl earrings as a fall pick me up present.

These navy suede buckled sandals would be perfect with the Marlo dress.

This new shape Celine Besace noeuds français bag can be worn on the shoulder or crossbody for fall.

Don’t forget to update your sunglasses for fall too. I have a different pair in this color but I love the shape of these Celine sunglasses as an update.

The light colors of Hermes nail polish always sell out. I just stocked up on Rose Porcelain but I love this Rose Balt shade for fall.

This Houndstooth wool-blend blazer is the perfect blazer to wear with jeans.

I just bought this Button Front Peasant Blouse to wear with jeans this fall.

I haven’t tried these High ‘N’ Tight high-rise straight-leg jeans yet but I love the name. Darker jeans are great for casual Fridays or for lunch meetings when you are self-employed.

Suede shoes like these Brown Suede Loafers are good for transitioning to real shoes after a summer in sandals since suede stretches and gives more than leather.

I own this Celine Medium Triomphe Celine Classic Panier in tan leather but I love the green for fall. My rule of thumb is that you can use a basket bag through September in New York and longer down south. You can then pull it out again in April or May when the weather warms up. I do not approve of using basket bags in the winter. But you can take it with you on a warm weather resort trip.

I’ve been loyal to Nars blush for years but their compact always breaks and I’ve finally had enough. I just ordered this Chanel Powder Blush today and love that the brush is included inside. You don’t have to buy a blush brush and it also won’t get blush on the inside of your makeup bag.

Bon week-end!

XOXO,
