My dear friend Andrew Brown, and interior designer based in Birmingham, Alabama, celebrated his birthday in Zanzibar this year. I was so inspired by his trip that I decided to create outfits based on the colors of his photos.

I started with the burnt orange terracotta tiles as inspiration from the first photo take in Old Town to find this Tiered Midi-Dress.

These Rockstud Braided Espadrille Sandals brings all the colors of the photo and outfit together.

After not purchasing this Longchamp Le Pliage Filet Top Handle Bag in Paris, I regretted my decision and bought it after I returned. It’s the perfect beach bag to pack for a getaway.

This Belted One-Shoulder One-Piece Swimsuit is my favorite non-color color of a nudey taupe.

It’s also the color of my favorite Celine Sunglasses.

You shouldn’t go in the sun without a hat like this Woven Boater Hat.

Don’t forget to wear sunscreen like this Lancer Mineral Sun Shield SPF 30 even on cloudy days.

You can even coordinate down to this Luxe Jacquard Terry Towel in terracotta.

Another view of Stone Town, Zanzibar from Andrew.

You can never go wrong with a white Linen Shirtdress whether you’re in a city or on a trip.

I love tan suede sandals like these Manolo Blahnik Artas Suede Sandals for summer. I also like these Veronica Beard Madeira Suede Sandals.

I love basket bags for summer and this Valentino VLogo Small Wicker Basket Bag is one of the chicest.

I love the retro yet modern feel of this Norma Kamali Walter Strapless Shirred One-Piece Swimsuit.

Tame your beach hair with this Balmain Hair Couture Standard Cosmetic Bag 4-Piece Haircare Set.

An amazing wooden door in historic Stone Town, Zanzibar.

I always start wearing more neutrals like this Jonathan Simkhai Standard Skye Washed Linen Tank Dress in August.

Darker sandals like these Saint Laurent Tribute Leather Slides are better able to transition to September than colorful shoes.

This green Loewe Small Leather-Trimmed Woven Basket Bag would also transition well into fall.

We often choose black for swimsuits but I love this brown Bow Two-Piece Bikini Set as an alternative.

If you get a little too much sun, try this Hampton Sun Hydrating Aloe Vera Continuous Mist for soothing relief.

Andrew Brown also went to Qambani on the East Coast of Zanzibar. He said it was so private that it would have been perfect for celebrities to evade the photogs so maybe Jen and Ben should go there when they want to hide.

I love how this Zimmermann Violet Cotton Maxi Dress picks up all the colors of Zanzibar.

These Alexandre Birman Clarita Bow Suede Sandals are the perfect color of sand.

If you don’t like large logos, try this Loewe Shell Elephant Grass & Leather Basket Bag.

This Johanna Ortiz is the best resort designer and her Bikini Top and matching Bikini Bottom would be perfect for Zanzibar.

I love this La Mer The Radiant SkinTint Broad Spectrum SPF 30 so that you don’t get that white film from sunscreen.

The beading on this ivory Halter Maxi Dress is perfect for resort trips.

For those of you who will wear heels on trips, these Metallic Sandals would work with almost any color dress.

I love this brown Saint Laurent Raffia Camera Bag as an alternative to natural raffia.

This Hibiscus Bandeau Bikini Top and matching Bikini Bottom looks perfect for any warm weather trip.

These Goldtone Stacked Disc Earrings are perfect for when you pull your hair back on a trip.

Take Nars Monoi Body Glow II on your trip for glowing skin.
