The only way to get through winter in New York is to escape to a tropical destination as many times as possible. I’m very lucky to be headed to Mexico tomorrow with Thirdhome and can’t wait for sunshine and warm temperatures. I have resort packing down to a science now but I could use a few new pieces to jazz up my warm weather wardrobe. Here are a few suggestions for your next resort trip or maybe something to inspire you to book one.

Most of the pieces are black and white with a little blush thrown in for good measure. I really need to add some color and I love the ease of this yellow dress.
I also usually just pack a black bikini but I think I need to buy some more fun swimsuits. I love this Mara Hoffman Printed Bandeau Bikini.
I didn’t take a hat on my Grand Cayman trip and regretted that decision after my forehead got too much sun, even with SPF 50. I won’t make that mistake again so this “Greetings from” Hat would be the perfect hat for any trip.
This Pineapple Striped Woven Straw Pouch would be great for stashing beauty products or carrying as a clutch.
I once saw a woman wearing super high heels at the Viceroy Anguilla which I thought was a little crazy. The best part of resort trips is that you can be casual and wear flat sandals every day. I love these White Perforated Sandals.
I have a few cover ups with this type of neckline and I love them. This Striped Cotton Maxi Dress would be a good addition to my resort wardrobe.
Eres makes the best lingerie and swimsuits and this Belted Bandeau Swimsuit is no exception. It’s so chic.
resort-shopping-habituallychic-008Eugenia Kim Grosgrain-Trimmed Fringed Woven Straw Sunhat is another great option to protect your face.
How fun would this Dolce & Gabbana Printed Tote be with all your resort outfits?!
Always pack a broad spectrum sunscreen like this Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream.
I look good in pink but I never wear the color. I think I’m going to have to make an exception for this Apiece Apart Maxi Dress.
I see Kiini Swimsuits on Instagram all the time with good reason. The crochet designs are super fun and chic.
I love the pom poms on this Eugenia Kim Hat.
This Striped Canvas and Leather Tote would be a perfect resort bag for the airplane and the beach.
While I love my Roger Vivier sandals that I pack for every trip, I realized that I need a slide that can be easily kicked off for the beach. These Embroidered Canvas Slides would be the perfect complement to all my black dresses.
I save my white resort dresses for a few days into the trip when I have a little tan. I definitely want to add this Zimmermann Cotton Midi Dress to my suitcase.
I don’t love one-piece swimsuits but this Solid and Striped Halterneck might make me change my mind.
This white Straw Panama Hat would go with any color outfit.
I absolutely love this hand woven and hand painted Sensi Studio Straw Tote.
I love a spray sunscreen like this Soleil Toujours Mist for hard to reach places.
I love a good black dress on vacation but why not mix things up and pack this black Zimmermann Silk Jumpsuit instead.
Almost all the young beauty editors were wearing retro high waisted bikinis on Grand Cayman and this Marysia Scalloped Bikini is a great modern looking retro set.
You can’t go wrong with this black Panama Straw Hat either.
Marc Cross was a favorite of Grace Kelly and this Rattan Tote is a chic bag for a holiday and the summer.
I only wear flats on vacation but I know some of you can’t be without your heels so how about these Wedge Espadrilles?
You can’t forget a pair of chic sunglasses when you go on holiday. These chic black Yves Saint Laurent Oversized Round Sunglasses would go with any of these looks.

Bon Voyage!
