True Luxury
by habituallychic
03 . 05 . 14The word luxury is bandied about so much that it’s started to lose its meaning. If there is one house that still typifies the word luxury, it’s Hermès. It’s also synonymous with quality and craftsmanship. While the Birkin bag may now be ubiquitous, the clothing will always hold down the fort on quiet yet interesting designs. Hermès unveiled their new collection for Fall/Winter 2014 today in Paris and it didn’t disappoint. The double faced cashmere coats with the asymmetrical draping and origami collars have an updated feel but still look like pieces you’d have in your closet forever. Although you may have to choose between a car or the crocodile coat since I’m thinking they probably cost about the same.

Am I crazy or does this seem very ‘Diane Keaton’ in a good way?
Gorgeous fullness to the fabrics and designs, but the exposed legs of the models appear too thin to support the weight of the clothes. I think we need a new beauty standard.

just bury me in that wide lapel coat
My favorite house (even though I’d never purchase anything there), and these pieces are absolutely gorgeous. Sumptuous fabric and gorgeous drape. I had such a good time examining the saddle in the Hermèes store in San Francisco at Christmastime. It was enough just to touch it. Leslie in Oregon
