Chic Christina
by habituallychic
07 . 18 . 13After a week of continuous 90+ degree days, I think a little yachting sounds like the perfect way to cool off. If you’ve got an extra $32.8 Million handy, you could be sailing around the Mediterranean with 35 of your closest friends on the Christina O, the yacht made famous by Jackie and Aristotle Onassis. In the world of mega yachts, they don’t make them like this anymore. New yachts also can’t say they’ve had guests like Sir Winston Churchill, John F. Kennedy, Eva Peron, John Paul Getty, John D. Rockefeller, John Wayne, Greta Garbo, Marilyn Monroe, Frank Sinatra, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor, and Prince Ranier and Grace Kelly, on board. If those walls could talk, imagine the stories they would tell! If any of you do buy it, please keep me in mind for one of the 35 spots.
Bon weekend!
Aristotle Onassis
Jackie and Aristotle held their wedding reception on the Christina O in 1968.
Ari and Sir Winston Churchill. Not sure why they are sitting in the pool.
Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton sailing with Ari in 1975.

What an amazing series of pictures. Why were they sitting in the pool?? Loved seeing this. Thank you
Loved this!
Look at how chic Jackie was even in her off-time! I love the Moroccan style velvet print pants and with the simple tee. And if only I could pull-off head scarves like her!
so many photos I have not seen + grand post + Happy Weekend! xxpeggybraswelldesign.com
I know the post is about yachts, but these photos of Jackie are such a gem. I had never seen quite a few of them and I’m so glad I was able to through your blog. She is such an icon to me.
I especially loved the photo of her in the water…you always see Jackie dressed to the nines, composed, and polished to perfection, so to see her in a different environment, completely undone is so fun and intriguing!
Thanks Heather!
