Elegant Elsa

I bet some people don’t even realize that Elsa Peretti is a real person and that she’s still designing her eponymous collection for Tiffany & Co. She began her career as a model before branching out into jewelry design.  There is a great new interview with the Italian designer in the new issue of Time Style & Design magazine on newsstands and online here. She’s been designing for Tiffany & Co. since 1974 and just signed a 20 year contract at the age of 72. I hope I’m still going strong at that age!

Oh thank you, thank you a million times!

This is my 35th wedding anniversary! And from the time we were dating in 1976; my husband LOVED Elsa Perretti and her designs!

so I have a beautiful collection; as do our daughters; of her beautiful designs!

I have the “scorpion” (it does not look on me, as it does on her; (in the décolletage )!

I have the “LARGE bone bracelets” (think Liza Minnelli; if you are younger , think “wonder-woman”!”

She is a genius; and continues on!!

I saw her when we attended Tiffany’s celebration of her 25th anniversary !!

She suggested these silver “comma” earrings!

    she is a total genius!

Isn’t it interesting how Tiffany knows to “make some things smaller”!! they are more “salable”!

As in the “snake necklace”! (they do not ever lose the design….ever.)

(they no longer carry the “large’ bone bracelets! My total favorites!!)

Bravo! Thank God another 20 year contract!
    BRAVO!!!

    BRAVO!!

    BRAVO!!

    Genius wins!

(Because she wasn’t. And would never be!)

that is the genius of Helmut Newton.

Oh , God, do I LOVE GENIUS!!!!!

    Especially two together!
Stuff gets no better! (at least that I know of!!)

    Lordy!!!

She was a stunning beauty in her days and is tres chic today. True elegance never fades. I own one of her silver drops Tiffany designs. Timeless. The form is a fluid perfection, my husband’s gift for 20th anniversary, love it. I’ll cherish that day in NY a couple of years ago.
Elsa Peretti is probably the best thing that happened to Tiffany in decades.

I was just talking about her to some younger women who had no idea who she was!
I still cherish the beautiful heart containers she designed for Halston’s cosmetic line. The silver compact and lisptick case are genius!
Wish I had some diamonds by the yard!
