When in Doubt, Add a Pop of Red

Everyone is sick of winter right now so how are we going to brighten things up while still wearing winter clothes? How are we also going to transition as the weather warms up? My suggestion is to add something red to give us a little jolt of energy and a pop of color to brighten up our neutrals.

I’ll be pulling out my camel Max Mara coat but another great option is this Handmade Oversized Wool Coat is a good transitional weight option.

I bought the Pure Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater this month to have a lighter option as the weather warms up. I bought the grey Luxe Italian Stretch Flannel Wide Leg Pants in the fall and plan to continue wearing through the cold early days of spring.

The brown Suede Loafers are a great shoe for the spring transitional period too.

I saw this vintage red suede Balmain Pierre Bag on Vestiaire and the price was too good to pass up. It’s 10 years old but the style looks very similar to the Hermès Victoria Bag and the new Khaite Maeve Bag so it will fit right in this season. There’s also a red Hermès Garden Party Tote that someone should snap up. Don’t be afraid to step off the trend train and lay down your own track.

I bought the Cos x Linda Farrow Sunglasses last week but they haven’t arrived yet. The original earrings I chose already sold out but these Knot Detail Earrings remind me of something Bottega Veneta would design. I always have a Heidi Wynne Scarf on hand for the chilly spring days.

I look forward to reading The Paris Novel in the sunshine in Central Park when it’s published in April

I will be wearing my Toteme Trench Coat on the grey and rainy spring days but I also like the Double-Breasted Cotton Trench Coat as a less expensive option.

I wore my navy Cos Knit Cardigan and Skirt to death last fall so I thought I would mix things up with the navy Cardigan with Button Tab Details and navy Wool Blend Flared Midi Skirt that I can also pair with other pieces.

I can’t wait to wear my new Gabriela Hearst Harlow T-bar leather Flats when it gets warmer. To give my pale legs a little color, I love the St. Tropez Express. It’s the most natural looking self tanner I’ve found.

My red Celine Teen Triomphe Bag will add a nice pop of color. ‘ve worn my new Celine Butterfly Sunglasses a few times this winter but they will see much more action during the sunny spring weather.

Lié Studio is the cool girl jewelry brand so you’ll be a cool girl too in this Gold-plated Necklace.

As it warms up further, it will be time to switch to jeans and a light blazer. I love this Blazé Milano Ivory Everyday Linen Blazer. I’ll pair it with the cheap and chic New Day T-shirts from Target and Classic Straight Jeans. I will also throw a red Cashmere Polo Sweater over my shoulders for a pop of color.

I bought the Gabriela Hearst Fisherman Sandals on sale at the end of the summer and I can’t wait to wear them this spring. I saw a very chic French girl wearing hers with cashmere socks over winter so that’s also an option if you want to wear them on chilly spring days.

My Celine Small Triomphe Bucket Bag is still going strong and the cost per wear has made it worth buying it a few years ago. I haven’t worn my Celine Aviator Sunglasses that I bought at CDG that much so I plan to remedy this in the spring.

The Lié Studio Gold Plated Bracelet is perfect for wearing with short sleeves. I own a different color of the Chanel Lip and Cheek Balm and a little goes a long way. But it lasts a long time so it’s great if you don’t like to reapply.

A less expensive blazer option is this Double Breasted Linen Blazer. I ordered the cotton and silk red Floral Shirt with this outfit in mind but it would also look great with jeans or ivory trousers. I usually wear a lot of dresses but I am trying to wear more skirts like this Drawstring Midi Skirt which can be mixed and matched into many different looks. I’m still waiting for my red Tricot Recycled Cashmere Sweater to arrive and can’t wait to start wearing it.

The Gabriela Hearst Harlow T-bar leather Flats or the Gabriela Hearst Fisherman Sandals would work well with this outfit. My Celine Sunglasses pick up the color of the shoes too. The Gold Plated Ring adds a nice finishing touch.

The Celine Celine Triumph Medium Basket was my quarantine birthday present in 2020 and it’s such a great bag for warmer weather. I’ve even worn it in early spring with a cashmere sweater, jeans, and a trench coat.

I’ve been using the Rōs Root Lift Spray since it debuted a few weeks ago and it adds nice root volume without wearing my hair down or making it feel sticky. I’ve been using the entire Rōz Hair Product line and love all them all.

Happy almost Spring!

XOXO,
