Antlers Away

One trend that I noticed in High Point showrooms like Drexel Heritage above and in magazines are antlers.  They never really go out of style and maybe I’m just noticing them again.  Or it could be because they evoke the feeling of a cozy cabin in the woods now that we’re coming up on winter weather.  I know some people are over them but they still look chic to me.

I’m crazy about antlers still, too! I’m trying to find a giant one that I can use to hang my necklaces on. Perhaps I should construct one, as I don’t want a deer to have to die for my storage solutions… but they sure are gorgeous.

Great post! Okay, that huge room in the castle kind of creeps me out. Love all the rest though!

Wow I’ve haven’t seen so many antlers before…The castle one with the many antlers, if I were to live in a building like that…I think it’d be scary. But other than that, the other pictures display much warmth. ^^

I really enjoyed this. My Antelope will soon be a part of our decor.

You would enjoy my home then! We’ve got a few antlers hanging around our log home and a few more sure to be hung in the coming years. I laugh that our home is suddenly en vogue…I’ve been seeing antlers, rough hewn wood surfaces and many other rustic elements in the design publications over the past year. As a designer, it was quite a leap for me to move into my new husband’s existing log cabin home (2 years ago) with all it’s rustic elements. I would have never thought it would suddenly be chic! I guess I’d better enjoy it while it lasts, eh?

love that leather chair in Slim’s sun valley home, now that is something my hubs would go for.

Love this post! When I installed glossy white resin antlers to a newly remodeled bathroom people thought I was crazy. When they saw the completed room they changed their minds. I never get tired of this design accessory. Thanks for putting together such a compelling collection.
