Housing Works Design on a Dime 2011
by habituallychic
05 . 06 . 11There are so many wonderful events every year in New York but one of my favorites is Housing Works Design on a Dime. I had the pleasure of attending the Opening Night and was yet again blow away but all the great booths. For those of you who don’t know, each year designers beg, borrow, and steal items for their booth that will be sold to benefit Housing Works “Get a Room” for homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. This year’s co-chairs include James Huniford, Charlotte Moss, Nate Berkus, Iman, and Lara Spencer who hosted the wonderful evening.
While I had time this morning to upload my photos, I did not have time to label them all before heading out to a client meeting. If you click on the photos, they will enlarge and you should be able to read the signs. As soon as I get back, I will label them all so each designer gets the credit that they so richly deserve for participating in this great event!

Sorry I only got to talk to you for 4 seconds. Your photos great!!! What an amazing event.
What a marvelous project…Your pics show that exciting design is more a function of creativity and enthusiasm than just money…Love this blog…
We’re so sorry we didn’t run into you at the party, but so happy you included Joshua Ingraham who included our Dunes and Duchess lamps in his vignette!
Thank You so much for your coverage of this amazing event and for including my room. It was a fantastic experience and a privelege to have been included.
I went on Sunday around noon and it was pretty much all taken down, even though it was advertised to go until 6pm. Next year I’ll go the first day, I suppose!
It was definitely a great event, and I believe it was much more crowded than last year’s. Thank you for the pics, I didn’t get to take a lot of pics. So thank you for sharing! Love most of your choices of faves!
