Chic in Chanel
by habituallychic
05 . 15 . 11If there is one thing that is at the top of my bucket list, it’s attending a Chanel fashion show. They are more than just a runway show, they are a theatrical event. The spring and fall shows at the Grand Palais in Paris are always over the top extravaganzas but it is the resort shows that take place outside of Paris that are really chic. The 2012 resort collection was just presented at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc in Antibes on the French Riviera last week. I love the umbrellas and blue cushioned chairs that line the runway and that Karl Lagerfeld included 46 year old model Kristen McMenamy in the show and accompanying video. Now that’s chic.

K.L. still has it goin’ on!
I love the venue format. Many of the designs are so true to Chanel’s style and aesthetic. However, I have seen some designs come out of their design house in the past that make me wonder…”hmmm, now what would Coco have designed?” But, there is a lot here to love!
Gorgeous photos, great coverage!
I was just on the Riviera last week and had gorgeous weather; I’m still in kind of a “rosé haze”. Ah, the Cote d’Azur. Can one ever get enough? We weren’t staying at the Eden Roc, but our rooftop sundeck in Nice was definitely working nicely.
Cheers,
Michael
Doesn’t this remind you of the movie, “Death in Venice”? That Karl!
Oh I love everything about this–the location, the setup and especially the age of the supermodel!
That knitted waistcoat is to die for. Karl is just so bad-ass, love him.
