Jeanne Lanvin’s Apartment in Paris
by habituallychic
09 . 29 . 09One of my favorite things from Paris was viewing the reconstructed apartment of fashion designer Jeanne Lanvin at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs. It consists of her boudoir, chambre de coucher and salle de bain that were designed for her by Armand Albert Rateau for her apartment at 16, rue Barbet-de-Jouy in Paris in . It’s a little hard to see because it’s protected by glass walls but it’s beauty and wonderful details are worth making the trip. The blue of the bedroom is known as Lanvin Blue and is said to have been inspired by the blue sky in a Fra Angelico fresco seen by Jeanne Lanvin. Just another example of how art, fashion and interior design all converge to great effect!

That Lanvin Blue is beautiful. Love it on the curtains with the white pattern.
I saw this bathroom last year for the second time and it was as stunning as the the first time I saw it. Absolutely lovely!

KIDDING! kinda amazing.
I have still never been to the Musee des Arts Decoratifs – but its definitely at the top of my list for the next trip to Paris…whenever that may be…
Jeanne Lanvin blue bedroom is so beautiful it almost feel out of 1001 nights…
stunning! Absolutely stunning!
I just fainted
I’d like to linger longer.
* MS LANVIN must be an HONESTLY VERY INTERESTING PERSON~~~ while her personal spaces are obviously not for “EVeryone”, her style is clear… precise…direct, and unwaverng. She is beautifully TRUE to herself~ her spaces show that.
The lady knows WHO she is, WHAT she wants and obviously HOW & WHERE to GET it…
Thanks~ MOST interesting!!!

Love the blue fabrics that remind me the czech fabrics
I’m jealous. Everytime Mrs. E. and have been in Paris, that museum is closed. And we’re huge fans of Art Deco (even went to London to see the big exhibit at the V&A one year.)
So thank you for letting me in the front door!
ooh i saw this when i was in paris, too! wasn’t it absolutely stunning?
