A Beautiful New Year!
by habituallychic
01 . 03 . 09As you know, I can’t stand seeing a new magazine on the newsstand before it’s arrived in my mailbox so I had to buy the new February 2009 issue of House Beautiful when I saw it today. The cover is gorgeous and showcases the new collection of fabrics from Annie Selke for Calico Corners. I was just looking at their site the other day and they have a wonderful selection of affordable fabrics that are perfect for those of us without deep pockets.
There was also another little surprise inside that I had forgotten about! Recently, House Beautiful asked eight bloggers to send them a photo of their living room and I’m very honored that Habitually Chic was among those included. I won’t ruin it and tell you who the others are so you’re just going to have to go out and buy the magazine. Or if you better willpower than me, you could just wait for it to arrive in your mailbox!

Congrats on getting your submission published. You are so funny on having to buy the magazine before it arrived in your mail; I get so mad when my brother gets his magazine before me!!
congrats to you! you should be soooo very proud…I cant wait to see it in person. And you are not alone. I call the mag companies up when i see a mag on the shelf that is not at my house when I have PAID! I hate that.

Luvmechoos – I do think they come out earlier in NYC which is part of the problem but I really do need to stop buying multiple copies of magazines!
Tamstyles – I am sure you will love all the living rooms featured!
Hmstrjam – I am obsessed with vintage watercolor so I had to figure out a way to hang as many as possible!
Rhonda – Are you thinking peacock blue? That’s usually how we refer to it. It’s really pretty!
Patricia – Thanks! I’m going to get out Write it Down, Make it Happen again thanks to you! Here’s to a great 2009!
Kathi – It’s a really great color! I used it in the living room of another client project that I am going to post about soon. I know you will love it!
PVE – Thanks! I think that 2009 is going to be a very good year for a lot of us!
you are a star, chic! only three days into the new year, and already gracing a major publication.

Congrats!! I completely agree with you point about seeing a new magazine in a store, before you have received your copy….it’s very hard not to buy it!
Your wall colour is very nice, it’s so hard to find a good colour so well done!

I’ll be sure to look for the photo in the mag 🙂
How exciting, congrats! I hate having to wait for magazines too, its so annoying to see it on the shelves before you even get it, I mean isnt that the point of having a subscription? Ugg, anyway I think I’m going to have to buy this one since its special and you are in it 🙂
Congrats again!!!
Hi Heather,
Just received my copy in today’s mail. Congrats to you! I love what you did to your room. Those photos are inspiring me to do something similar for wall art.
Enjoy reading your blog too! It’s on my Google Reader.
All the best to you in 2009,
Lynn
Oh my, how did I miss this?! I love it! You’re quite talented.
xo
Me too, how did I miss this, checked my fan deck, interesting colour…I must keep it in mind for clients, I use shaker beige often but I might spec cedar key, seems a bit softer, might have to try it in my new office to see how it feels to live in.
