The tourism board of New Orleans should make Jane Scott Hodges an honorary ambassador. My visit to the Crescent City would not have been half as chic without her expert guidance. She and Debra Shriver of Hearst, who also lives in Nola, were kind enough to take me to lunch at Lilette and a tour of design and antique shops in the Garden District. (I will definitely work on a travel guide soon.) We of course started at Jane’s Leontine Linens showroom which made me want to redo my entire bed again. She and her husband own the factory in Kentucky where expert sewers work on the beautiful embroidery and her signature appliqué for bed linens, table linens, and accessories. I also had the special treat of seeing Jane’s home decorated by Gwen Driscoll where she showed me her amazing armoire full of all her embroidered table linens and her collection of china. Southern hospitality is alive and well in New Orleans and it seriously has me wondering why I live in New York.

Photos of Jane’s house are from One Kings Lane, House Beautiful and House Beautiful by photographer and neighbor Paul Costello, Tory Burch Blog also by Paul Costello, Instagram, and a few I took during my visit.
