One Skirt Five Ways

January was the dreary and depressing month in New York. But the sun is today and all is right with the world again. It is so hard to get inspired when you want to burn all your winter clothes but the ME+EM catalog arrived last week and I fell in love with this skirt and a few other pieces for spring. I originally intended to just create one outfit for Instagram Stories but I can never do anything halfway so I ended up creating five outfits showing how you can style it from winter to spring. Not sponsored by the way.

The first outfit above is perfect for lunch in the city on a cold day or a weekend trip upstate.

Dakota Johnson was seen wearing this Toteme Leather-trimmed Shearling Coat in NYC during her SNL rehearsals and it looked so cozy.

A Cropped Fisherman Sweater means you won’t have to try to tuck in a bulky sweater to create a waist.

This Cotton Utility Midi Skirt could be worn a million different ways. Layer with tights and boots in winter and bare legs with sandals in the summer.

These Knee-High Suede Boots are a mix of the Khaite Dallas Knee High Boot and the Khaite Marfa Knee High Boot for a lot less.

I hope we are moving on from tiny bags. I need a tote like this taupe Textured-Leather Tote to hold all my stuff in the winter.

For accessories, the taupe Pure Cashmere Hat looks almost exactly like the wool hat I bought from Celine in Paris but it’s much less expensive.

The Khaite Small Gold-tone Hoop Earrings are the hot new accessory but you could get these similar 14k Gold Kylie Drop Dome Earrings for less. There is also this pair of Curved Domed Earrings for much less.

I feel like waists went by the wayside during the pandemic so let’s bring back belts like this tan Leather Belt.

When I’m feeling pasty and pale in the winter, I love this Soleil Glow Bronzer with the Bronzer Brush.

This outfit is for when it’s still winter but warming up a little. Also good for dreary days.

This Belted Wool-blend Tweed Coat is calling my name but the price is not. You can find less expensive options here, here, and here.

This pairing is a little out of the box for me but sometimes you have to switch things up. The Merino Wool Turtleneck is thin, comes in eight colors, and makes the best layering piece. Add the Pointelle Sleeveless Knit over top when it’s not freezing color outside.

I really want to go on safari and this Cotton Utility Midi Skirt would be great for that too.

Chocolate brown Leather Riding Boots are great for rainy days in the city and country.

I really love a taupe Suede Bag.

Add a little fun to your outfit with the Semi-Precious Stone Ring and Hammered Ring Set.

The Chanel Ombre Premiere Laque would be perfect with this outfit.

The brown Suede Belt would work with this skirt and jeans too.

The skirt perfectly transitions to warmer weather in the spring.

I think I posted this Belted Houndstooth Wool-blend Trench Coat before but I love it. I don’t need it but I definitely want it.

Everyone needs a blue shirt like this blue Stretch Cotton Poplin Slim Shirt in their wardrobe. I also love the blue oxford cloth Tomboy Shirt.

The same Cotton Utility Midi Skirt as above but I also love this Cotton Midi Wrap Skirt that comes in black and ivory.

I love the color of these Block Heel Leather Pumps. I don’t need these either but this color might be too good to pass up for transitioning to spring.

This Tasseled Woven Leather Tote would add some great texture to your spring outfits.

When I wear a blue shirt, I almost always roll up the sleeves which would show off this Hermès Cape Cod Double Tour Small Stainless Steel, Leather and Diamond Watch.

I always get compliments when I wear this clean but interesting Molecule 01 perfume.

If you need a belt on a budget, this Snake-effect Belt is the perfect option.

Another great outfit when it’s chilly in the morning but warm during the day.

This Double-breasted Wool and Cashmere-blend Coat is the perfect topper for spring. A less expensive option is the Handmade Oversized Wool Coat.

I love pairing grey like this Shrunken Cashmere Crewneck Sweater with tan and the short length is perfect with the skirt.

You could also swap out this Cotton Utility Midi Skirt for a Denim Midi Skirt.

These brown Leather T-Strap Pumps look high but the block heel makes them very comfortable.

If you like the look of the Loewe Puzzle Fold Convertible Large Leather Tote but not the price, this Suede Shopper Bag is a very well priced alternative.

I swear mostly gold but I like the idea of mixed things up with these Recycled Platinum and Gold-plated Hoop Earrings.

I feel like we all need to buy ourselves a treat for making it through January and this Gucci Rouge à Lèvres Satin Lipstick in The Painted Veil is a great option. The color is perfect for spring.

The chic brown Reversible Leather Belt is black on the other side so you are getting two belts for one. It’s also giving me a little Hermès vibes.

This is the most me outfit and I already bought myself the shoes.

I’ll wear my Toteme Signature Gabardine Trench Coat that I’ve posted a bunch of times with this outfit. But another alternative is this Belted Cotton-blend Twill Trench Coat.

This sand colored Cotton V-Neck Ribbed Cardigan, with a touch of cashmere, is similar to some of the ones I posted in the fall if you missed out on them.

The Cotton Utility Midi Skirt again but if you want something a little heavier for work, I love this Wool Midi Skirt.

As soon as these Gabriela Hearst T-bar Leather Flats, I knew I had to have them and ordered them last week because I was afraid my size would sell out. They are my favorite non-color color of nude with a touch of pink. They will be perfect with trousers when it’s a bit chilly and with skirts and dresses when it’s warmer. I think I might need the black pair too.

Another taupe bag that I’m coveting is this Pleated Leather Clutch.

The v-neck of the sweater is perfect for showing off this Gold-tone Necklace. This Flat Link Necklace is a much less expensive option.

I bought the Gabriela Hearst x Fueguia 1833 Paysandu Eau de Parfum last year and it’s perfect for these outfits.

I also bought this very chic and sold out Khaite Julius Snake-effect Leather Belt and it’s finally back in stock again.

Happy February!

XOXO,
