The Ultimate Fall Shoe and Boot Edit

I’ve been working on this ultimate fall shoe edit for weeks because I kept adding and removing shoes so I could recommend the best options. I also ordered quite a few pairs which was also why I kept changing things around but I think it’s finally ready for you.

The first pair of shoes you need for fall is a pair of Mary Janes. Most pairs are flat but you can certainly also choose a pair with a little heel. A popular brand for them is Le Monde Beryl which has recently been seen on Sofia Richie Grainge and Gwyneth Paltrow.

I just ordered the Le Monde Beryl Velvet Mary Janes so I will report back but they do run small so order a half size up.

A less expensive but similar option are the Venetian style velvet Mary Janes like these black Vivi Venezia Blanket Stitched Velvet Mary Jane Flats.

A little more dressed up style are the Patent Leather Mary Jane Point Toe Flats.

If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, I would think about adding a silver shoe to your wardrobe. It can also be a Mary Jane style or have a little kitten heel. I love that Sofia Richie Grainge added a silver shoe to a casual outfit which makes it look like a neutral.

The silver Point Toe Mary Jane Flats would be my choice.

The second pair of Round Toe Metallic Leather Mary Jane Flats would be perfect with jeans.

The third pair of Metallic Leather Slingback Pumps would be great with almost any color dress.

The last pair are the exact pair of silver Jimmy Choo Pointed Pumps that Sofia is wearing in the photo.

Loafers are having a moment this fall, especially in black. Kendall Jenner has been seen wearing them with jeans, shorts, skirts, and dresses.

The top pair are a soft Grained Leather Loafer which aren’t as stiff as many other pairs.

I loved the second pair of Khaite Leather Loafers but they are hard to get into if you have a high instep.

The third pair of black Leather Loafers are a more reasonably priced option. As are the bottom pair of black Leather Loafers.

I don’t love ankle boots with dresses or skirts. I prefer if the bottom of the skirt covers the top of the boots so I would pair these black ankle boots with trousers or jeans.

If you still aren’t ready for high heels, these black Kitten Heel Boots are for you. They are also a less expensive version of the Toteme Kitten Heel Boots.

The boots on the bottom left come in leather and suede but I think the black Calf Hair Boots are a more unexpected option.

Bottom right are your cool girl black Leather Ankle Boots.

Boots with a wider and lower shaft are also another option for fall, especially for women who are more petite.

The Mock Croc Embossed Boots on the bottom left are the less expensive version of the Toteme Croc Effect Leather Knee Boots.

The black suede Short Shaft Heeled Boots would be great for going out.

These are all the best options for all those knit midi skirts I posted for fall.

The bottom row tan Low Heeled Suede Knee High Boots are great if you just want a small heel for walking.

I would pair the top row Brown Leather Stacked Heel Boots and other top row Brown Leather Stacked Heel Boots with midi dresses and skirts.

The Snake Effect Leather Knee High Boots would add some great pattern to monochromatic outfits.

I’d pair the last tan Leather Knee High Boots with jeans and a fisherman sweater.

Add a little color to your fall outfits with the first pair of khaki green Crocodile-Embossed Leather Knee-High Boots.

The top row Low Heeled Nutmeg Colored Boots come in eight different colors. The black Low Heeled Knee High Boots are another walkable option.

The bottle row middle tan Suede Knee High Boots and last burgundy Embellished Leather Knee High Boots would look great with grey.

These are a few of the pairs I bought or are thinking of buying or are similar to a pair I bought.

The top pair of brown Suede Penny Loafers look like a very comfortable loafer option. I own the tan Leather Loafers and they are a comfortable weekend option to wear with jeans and chunky sweaters.

I just bought the bottom pair of Suede and Canvas Sneakers because they are the perfect shade of taupe for mental health walks.

My favorite pair of shoes I bought for fall are a pair of black suede point toe kitten heel Mary Janes from Chanel that are completely sold out. The black Suede Kitten Heels are the closest thing I’ve seen to them. The second pair of shoes I’ve worn the most this fall are the black Leather Flats from The Row. The little heel means I can wear them with skirts and dresses as well as trousers. I was inspired to buy them after seeing Lauren Santo Domingo wear them during fashion week.

A lot of women in Paris wear lace up boots with wool trousers in the winter and Officine Generale showed them with their long skirts so I started to look for a pair. I got very lucky and found a pair of Manolo Blahnik Lace Up Boots in my size for less than $200. The best thing about buying a pair on a resale site is that someone else already broke them in so they are ready to wear as soon as it gets cold.

Two other pairs that I didn’t buy but considered are Green Velvet Point Toe Flats. I have the same shoes in brown suede but just wasn’t sure I’d wear green velvet that much but I really love the color. The other was a pair of Prada Kitten Heels. I liked them but once I started to see them everywhere, I wasn’t as interested.

I thought I would also share what I wear with my boots and shoes when it gets cold.

I have worn the Spanx Tight-end Reversible Tights in charcoal and black for years. I not only wear them with dresses and skirts but also under trousers when it’s cold. They are great quality for the price and last forever.

If it’s chilly but not freezing cold, I’ll wear Falke Merino Wool Knee High Socks under my Trousers and Jeans. I wear them knee high version because they stay up and don’t fall down when you walk like most socks. I wear charcoal but they also come in five other colors and numerous sizes to fit your shoe size.

In the winter, I will add Genuine Shearling Insoles with Natural Cork Insulation inside my boots for warmth. They keep my feet very cozy and warm while walking around the city.

For fancier hoisery, I suggest Wolford. They also now make Control Top Tights too. The main reason to wear control top is so that they also don’t start to fall down while you are walking.

Hope this helps you navigate what boots and shoes to add to your wardrobe this fall.

Bon week-end!

XOXO,

HC
