What I Bought for Fall 2023 and How I Plan to Wear Everything

If you follow me on Instagram, you may have already seen some of these pieces but I thought it might be nice to put a post together of how I will wear them this fall. Since I plan to wear these pieces with things already in my closet, I tried to find similar items so you can replicate the looks or use them to create your own outfits.

I don’t think I’ve ever had such an amazing response to anything compared to the one for this knit cardigan and skirt. I was actually pleasantly surprised that so many followers bought the brown color resulting it in selling out.

I sized down one size down in each piece. If they skirt is too long, some tailors can hem knits but I just pulled it up higher on my waist which is also an option.

I bought the navy knit cardigan and skirt as well and plan to wear them both with my new Hermès Kelly Bag and Chanel Kitten Heels. If you like these shoes, you can contact my SA at Bergdorf Goodman, @innayourshoes, since they are not sold online. These leather point-toe pumps are a similar style that aren’t as expensive.

So many followers contacted me to say how much they loved the Bottega Gold Drop Dupe Earrings. I even received quite a few lovely selfies as proof. They look amazing considering how much they cost. I’ll wear a gold link necklace I already own but this gold-plated link necklace is similar.

I love that the navy knit cardigan can also be worn casually. I just ordered these new navy four season stretch pants that were just released. They’re the perfect pants to wear with sneakers and my Toteme double-breasted cotton-blend gabardine trench coat on grey and rainy fall days. I bought a new pair of white Chanel sneakers, also purchased from @innayourshoes, but these white sneakers are very similar.

I love my burgundy Khaite Osa Tote but it’s hard to find my keys without an interior pocket so I am going to take it to my shoe repair person and have him sew the included pouch into the top of the bag. I have a feeling this is going to be a game changer for using the bag this fall, especially for travel.

I’ve raved about this Rosewood handle umbrella for years since it has an automatic open and close button. It’s beautifully made but only costs $26.99 so I have one in every color. It’s perfect for fall weather in the US and Europe.

Rainy days also call for a padded headband and Rouge Coco Tinted Lip Balm.

If you want a less expensive option than my Toteme double-breasted cotton-blend gabardine trench coat, this classic twill trench is a great deal. This trench coat is another chic option.

I feel like bags are maybe where you splurge this fall. An alternative to my Hermès Kelly Bag is this very chic small size black suede Margaux tote from The Row.

The Khaite Osa Tote is only available in tan and black now and if I didn’t already have my bag in burgundy, I’d definitely have this Khaite Amelia medium leather tote bag on my fall fashion list. I tried to find a less expensive burgundy bag but it’s a hard color to get right.

The brown knit cardigan would be perfect to pair with my favorite travel pants. I’ve received so many messages about these too from followers who bought them and love them too. They’re ponte but not shiny which I hate. They are heavy enough to keep you sucked in but have stretch so they are comfortable. I’ve worn them on flights to and from London and Paris and they are very comfortable for long flights.

The pants work just as well with white sneakers as they do with black pumps so they can do double duty while traveling. The suede bucket bag is a great option for fall if you are in need of a new bag.

My Weekend Max Mara coat is only available in one size but this Plaid Wool Blend Trench Coat is very similar.

The Bottega Gold Drop Dupe Earrings and gold-plated link necklace are the same as above.

If you like the style of my Weekend Max Mara coat that is only available in one size, this Plaid Wool Blend Trench Coat is a pretty amazing copy.

I was going to wait to post this Officine Generale grey skirt until it was available but the pre-order sizes are already selling out. I’m so glad I already ordered mine but it’s unfortunately back ordered until October. We are waiting for a new Officine Generale store to open on Madison Avenue so I hope they open this fall and have the skirt available sooner.

I was also going to try to wait to post about the grey merino wool polo sweater until the matching skirt was also online (it hasn’t been posted yet) but people are shopping like crazy for fall already. The top is back ordered until the end of August but you can’t wait on anything this season.

I’ll probably pair with with my Chanel tweed slingbacks from last fall and my Hermès Kelly Bag but I also like the idea of pairing it with brown kitten heel leather pump. These longer skirts are more feminine which makes them perfect for kitten heels instead of stilettos but you can definitely pair them with stack heeled boots when it gets colder.

I’d also wear the Celine aviator sunglasses I bought at CDG last year and my Toteme double-breasted cotton-blend gabardine trench coat.

I bought a new ‘S Max Mara grey wool belted coat already this season but lucky for you, the handmade wool coat on the right looks exactly the same and costs a lot less. In real life, the colors match too.

If you are taller, you might prefer this grey double faced wool coat. I bought the navy version last year and it’s very soft.

I never met a grey cashmere sweater I didn’t like so I immediately ordered the grey chunky cashmere turtleneck sweater and it feels much more expensive in person. I sized down two sizes.

I’ll pair it with these charcoal grey slim Italian stretch wool blend cropped pants. They are perfect for pairing with white sneakers for travel.

I also use my Celine Small Bucket Cuir Triomphe Crossbody Bag in Smooth Calfskin. You could try this brand new tan crossbody bucket bag as a less expensive alternative.

And of course, I can’t go to Paris without covering my neck like the French with my Heidi Wynne Alexandra Wrap in the color Habitually Chic. I’ll wear it with my Weekend Max Mara coat.

I also have the crewneck version of this chunky undyed cashmere sweater from last year or I’d have ordered it too. I can usually take one size down in Cos but I take two sizes down in the chunky oversized sweaters.

I also bought the charcoal grey cashmere crewneck sweater which I will keep even though it’s not as soft as last year’s version.

I went a little crazy and also bought this camel ‘S Max Mara Coat for fall too. I had my eye on it and saw a woman wearing it in a doctor’s office so I pulled the trigger when it went on sale. It’s actually darker brown in person. The handmade camel wool coat on the right is another great reasonably priced option for fall.

You could buy the original Bottega Veneta gold drop earrings on the left or save a lot of money and buy the amazing Bottega Gold Drop Dupe Earrings on the right. The leather point-toe pumps and white sneakers on the right are great alternatives to my Chanel shoes. You can also try Axel Arigato white sneakers which are a brand that’s becoming popular in Paris.

I forgot my rule about not posting something until I buy it for myself and missed this Toteme python effect belt. Lucky for me, I created a bookmark and kept checking until it was finally available yesterday. I think it will be perfect Officine Generale grey skirt. I could even use it to cinch the brown knit cardigan over the skirt. The plain brown suede belt is a simple chic option for fall but the Skinny Snake Embossed Leather Belt is a pretty similar belt.

I hope this gives you some outfit ideas to wear throughout autumn.

XOXO,
