Cutter Brooks and a New Book

Amanda Brooks was supposed to move to her husband’s native England with her family for just one year in 2012. Not only are they still there, she just opened a lifestyle shop in Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds.  Cutter Brooks carries a carefully curated mix of vintage items like fair isle sweaters and new pieces from Atelier Vime, Scanlon Apparati, La Tuile a Loup, Astier de Villatte, and Vladimir Kanevsky. The plan is to add a cafe in the back that I can only assume will become the chicest place to hang out and eat a scone.

If that’s not enough, Amanda has a new book about to debut on June 5th, Farm from Home: A Year of Stories, Pictures, and Recipes from a City Girl in the Country that chronicles her new country life that is welcome change of pace from hectic New York.

I don’t know if I’ll ever make it to the Cotswolds to shop in person so I hope Cutter Brooks starts to sell online. Two people who could stop by the shop are the newly married Duke and Duchess of Sussex who reportedly just signed a two year lease on a house in the Cotswolds. Maybe the two Americans married to Brits will bond if that happens.

You can read more about Amanda and Cutter Brooks in the WSJ.Magazine in the Wall Street Journal newspaper on Saturday, June 2 or click here.
