Bottega Veneta Maison New York

One of my biggest regrets while visiting Milan was forgetting to visit the Bottega Veneta store filled with frescoes. While the new Bottega Veneta Maison store in New York doesn’t have frescoes, it does have everything else you could possibly want in its 15,000 square feet. Three 19th-century townhouses at 74o Madison Avenue have been combined and completely designed by creative director Tomas Maier. The five floors are connected by a central glass, wood, and stone staircase that begins downstairs with accessories and sunglasses, moves to shoes, womenswear, menswear, and finally a home floors called the Apartment.

I started at the top with the furniture and home accessories punctuated with artwork from Italian artists from the gallery Robilant + Voena that are meant to evoke the character of a real home. I especially loved the moody colors of the suede and velvet upholstery positioned throughout the store such as smoky blue and grey, celadon, and plum. The Bottega Veneta signature woven intrecciato leather also weaves its way throughout the townhouse on the furniture, accessories, leather goods, and handbags such as the new Icons of New York 33 piece capsule collection and my favorite bag, the Twilight Lauren 1980 Clutch.

While the Bottega Veneta Maison store has been open, it’s celebrating its grand opening on Friday which will be punctuated with a fashion show at 8:00pm followed by a celebratory soiree. I’ll be attending so be sure to follow along on Instagram and Stories. #BVXNY
