Francisco Costa’s New Minimal Apartment

Sorry for the radio silence the last few days. I forgot how hard it can be to blog while away on a trip. I’m headed back to New York this afternoon and luckily JetBlue Mint has excellent Fly-Fi so I try to play catch up.

Long time readers may remember Francisco Costa’s gray apartment that was for sale two years ago from my post Revisiting Francisco Costa. It’s actually one of my all time favorite homes. I love the varying shades of grey and neutrals mixed with warm woods and brass.

His new Park Avenue Apartment just featured on Architectural Digest is the clean slate that resulted after a gut renovation with help from architect Alexander Poma of Pomasteven. The minimal white space makes each piece of furniture stand out like sculpture.

It’s very smart and sleek – quite beautiful – but where’s it’s soul? It doesn’t like someone anyone could possibly live in.

Oh, I SO love it. Thank you very much! What an inspiration! A perfect combination of modern and vintage. Those matching prints on the wall are a bit mysterious… ah, I know! It’s animal silhouettes!
