La rentrée is a French phrase used in September that is the equivalent of our ‘back to school” sentiment but it also refers to everyone returning home from their August vacation and resuming their normal routine. If I were hair stylist Frederic Fekkai, I would never return from the gorgeous estate he shares with his family in the Aix-en-Provence region of France. 

Domaine Chantecler includes olive groves and fields of lavender that look almost too perfect to be real. The family spends most of their summer outside but the the 17th-century main house and interiors by architect Jean Paul Bernard and decorator Jean-Louis Raynaud aren’t too shabby either. I’m really glad to see that all the money I spend on Fekkai haircare products is going to a good place.
