While I was reading the Tory Burch Blog, I saw that they photographed their Spring/Summer 2016 Look Book at Fustic House in Barbados. The gorgeous 17th-century sugar plantation was renovated by designer Oliver Messel in the 1970’s and is now available to rent for a Caribbean holiday. On first view, the exterior looks like a house you might find in Provence. I especially love the pale green color used for the shutters and through out the house that has become known as “Messel Green.” He was quoted as saying of Fustic House, “I transformed it into one of the most unusual and romantic houses in Barbados. I redesigned it to suit the ideal way of living in the tropics, with balconies, loggias and terraces overlooking the sea and all the main living areas open and part of the garden.” After looking at the photos, I have to agree and will definitely be checking on availability.
