I’m not a fan of Instagram accounts that post old photos but following Hakan Groth is the best of both worlds. The London-based antiques dealer at Rupert Cavendish Antiques posts his own photos of historic homes in Sweden that look as if they couldn’t possibly be new. The photos here were taken at “Sandemar Manor by the sea near Dalaro southeast of Stockholm” which was built in the 17th-century.

His 1990 book Neoclassicism in the North is considered the bible on Swedish furniture and interiors and his Instagram account makes me wonder if he’s working on a new book. There’s not much about Hakan Groth online but I have a feeling that’s going to change very soon.
