While I have been buying Christmas presents for others, I’ve also been buying myself a few things. The sales have been so great that it was hard not to take advantage of them. After a few deliveries arrived yesterday, I realized that most of what I’ve bought is grey.  It’s my go to color for winter since it’s not as harsh as black and looks great with so many other colors. I also think it complements my hair color as well.

Here’s a look at what I’ve added to my closet recently.

My vintage grey fur coat fell apart last winter so as soon as I saw this grey Justy Shearling from Club Monaco, I knew it would be the perfect replacement. I wore it last week when the temperature dipped and it kept me perfectly warm. It was a splurge but I waited until it was on sale and now you can save 35% with the code THANKFUL.

I love dresses for winter and especially sweater dresses. I also bought the Simonya Cable Knit Dress from Club Monaco in charcoal grey but it also comes in ivory. It’s perfect with brown knee high boots.

I first saw this Tory Burch Wool and Cashmere Cocoon Coat on a fashion blogger on Instagram. I loved the style and thought it would be a good everyday coat addition to my closet. It just arrived yesterday and fits perfectly although the fur collar looks more blue than grey.

This Ryan Roche Hat was a bit of an impulse purchase when I was shopping downtown with a friend the day after Thanksgiving. I usually wear knit hats in the winter because you can shove them in your bag when you take them off. But I knew color the grey felted wool would be perfect with my new grey coats so I’m glad I decided to go for it.

If I like something, I will sometimes buy it in multiples. In the case of this J. Crew Lace Sleeved Sweater, I bought it in two different sizes. The regular size is relaxed and looks perfect with jeans. But I thought if it was shorter and more fitted, it would be perfect with a heavy grey flannel skirt I bought last winter. So I also ordered it in a Petit Small that was perfect. Luckily, it’s 30% off right now.

I actually haven’t bought this J. Crew A-line Midi Wool Skirt yet but I think it might be my final grey purchase. It would be perfect with a grey turtleneck sweater or an ivory blouse. Although, I think I will have my tailor sew up the ridiculously high slit. It also comes in a few other colors so maybe I should branch out from grey.

These Ann Taylor Ellen Leather Riding Boots are not grey but they are perfect for pairing with all my new grey clothes. I love the comfortable stacked heel and that they aren’t as crazy expensive than most boots I looked at for this winter. I bought them in Deep Brandywine but they are also available in Black and Dark Carmel and in Extended Calf. Best of all, they are currently 50% off with the code EVERYTHING.

I’m cut off from buying anything else for myself this month but there is a Celine tote bag that I have my eye on so maybe just one more thing. Unless Santa wants to bring it for me. Hint, hint.

Happy Shopping!
