Planning Ahead

I have a lot of events coming up in the next few months so I’m starting to plan ahead. The first place I’m starting is St. John at Nordstrom. They always have ladylike styles that aren’t boring and can be styled in a multitude of ways. I prefer to wear dresses for events since they are easy to throw on and always look pulled together. These are a few of my favorites.
I have a friend who’s about to get engaged and another who is about to have a baby. The St. John Floral Print Charmeuse Dress above would be perfect for an engagement party or a baby shower.
I love this St. John Fringe Trim Shantung Dress because it would look great with sandals now and boots and tights as the model is wearing when the weather cools down. I would also add the matching Fringe Trim Shantung Jacket for fall too.
I’m hosting a Young Collector’s event for the contemporary sale at Sotheby’s soon. This St. John Colorblock Sheath Dress would be perfect to wear to the event and it reminds me of a Mondrian painting.
As an Aries, red is supposed to be my color but I don’t own anything in the hot hue. This St. John Luxe Sculpture Knit Dress would be a great option. I love that I could top it off with the Double Breasted Double Face Coat in the same Geranium color.
I’m planning another trip to Miami this December for Art Basel and this St. John Tulip Print Sheath Dress looks like it was painted by an artist. Perfect for one of the many events surrounding the art event.
Even if you already have a great black dress, I still think you can’t go wrong by adding a new one to your wardrobe each season. I love that the gathered fabric on the front of this St. John Crepe Cady Dress makes it a little more interesting than your basic black dress.
Everyone knows that leopard is a neutral and this St. John Leopard Charmeuse Dress would be a fun option to wear to shows during fashion week. I’d continue to wear it during the fall and holidays with black tights and heels with this Double Breasted Coat.
When everyone returns to the city in the fall, the charity events start happening again. This subtle but sparky St. John Paillette Gossamer Mesh Gown would look amazing twirling on the dance floor.
Sometimes you want to stand out a little more at an event and this St. John Floral Fil Coupé Gown would be a beautiful option with the Hand Beaded Satin Belt. If the weather was chilly, I’d throw this short Double Breasted Jacket with Fox Fur Collar for a touch of fun.
