I knew Australian interior designer Anna Spiro was working on something great via Instagram but I wasn’t exactly sure what until I saw another Instagram post from artist Wayne Pate. Turns out it was a hotel Halcyon House and restaurant Paper Daisy for which Wayne illustrated the menus.

Halcyon House is located in Cabarita Beach, New South Wales, Australia and was the brainchild of sisters Elisha and Siobhan Bickle. They first thought they would buy the property of The Hideaway motel and turn it into a family beach house according to Vogue Living who profiles the hotel and restaurant in the July/August 2015 issue. Instead they turned it into a 21-room hotel that evokes the feeling of a 1960’s beach motel with a modern interpretation by architect Virginia Kerridge with wildly patterned interiors by Anna Spiro.

I’ve always wanted to visit Australia but Halcyon House has moved the country to the top of my must visit list now.
