Joyeux Blog Anniversaire!
07 . 10 . 14
When I created Habitually Chic on July 10, 2007, never in my wildest dreams could I imagine that seven years later I would be celebrating my blog anniversary while living in Paris and attending a haute couture fashion show. Obviously, I owe it all to those of you who continue to visit the blog and read my posts everyday and also those of who follow me on social media.
It’s not always been easy but it’s certainly been a rewarding and interesting seven years. I think some people have a vision that everything just falls in my lap. On some occasions, it actually does but the majority of the time, I go out and make things happen. Having a blog means that I can’t be shy about reaching out to people or going places on my own. It means having a curiosity to learn more and do more so I can share it with you. It means not being afraid to move to a foreign country. But more than anything, I hope that whatever I do inspires you to do something, whether it’s to attend an exhibition, travel, or just be a better person.
I can’t wait to see what the next seen years hold for you and me!
Time sure does fly when you are doing amazing things! Congratulations, Heather, and thanks for continuing to inspire us.
Congratulations Heather! Have enjoyed your blog from its inception, however, must say your coverage of Paris has been the most enjoyable of all … hoping you will be writing a book that incorporates much of your Parisian experience!
Many many congratulations, it takes a lot of mettle to keep putting out content for that period of time.
Congrats! I’ve been a longtime fan since the earliest days of HC. It really is an amazing blog!
Bonne anniversaire! A daily visit to the blog is so inspiring and recommend it to everyone!

I love your Habit (HC) and have become a huge fan of yours! My co worker, Marine, who is from Strasbourg, told me about you- so happy to hear you are enjoying living in France! It is very brave of you to move there when all the Parisians want to live in New York! 🙂
PS check out Hotel Caron de Beaumarchais in the Marais – so quaint and tres’ charmant!

Hi Heather. It has been an exciting journey to witness the growth in your influence in all forms of media. Congratulations on your many adventures. Can’t wait to see what is on the horizon.
Congratulations Heather, your words “the majority of the time, I go out and make things happen.” just reminded me of how I have been a great admirer of your spirit and hard work over the years since i discovered your blog. I may have not reached the point of having the courage to take the plunge but you and how you have made/are making your dreams come true is one of the motivating nudgers i have to go out there and do it. so thank you for it.
Happy Anniversary! I’ve been a reader since day 1. I love the spirit of your blog- thriving to be better, to go outside your comfort zone, to explore, to be positive. Exactly how I choose to live me life. Following your Paris adventure is a treat every day.
Thank you Heather
Congratulations on the seventh anniversary of Habitually Chic! I wish I had discovered it earlier, as I have very much enjoyed reading every post since that discovery. Reading about your life in Paris is an even more special treat. Have you decided whether you will stay beyond September (to enjoy the many delights of Paris in autumn)? Celebrate well! Congratulations! Keep up the good work!
Hopefully the next seven years will also take you to Southern Africa so we can say “ukuhalalisela” or “baie geluk” on your blog birthday. Opening your blog page is like receiving a gift every day of the year- there is always the anticipation of what you have in store for us and the lovely discovery of that day’s blog gift. Thank you Heather
Congratulations, Heather, and merci beaucoup to you for all the lovely posts!
