Spring Fling
by habituallychic
04 . 21 . 14Many of you are celebrating Easter Monday today so I’ve decided to keep with the theme of spring. It was the most beautiful weekend in New York and it seemed like every person in the city was in Central Park on Sunday. Everything is in bloom and putting us all in a good mood after this long winter. Enjoy!
April hath put a spirit of youth in everything.
– William Shakespeare
I stuck my head out the window this morning and spring kissed me bang in the face. – Langston Hughes
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o’er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
– William Wordsworth
April’s rare capricious loveliness.
– Julia Dorr
Well-apparel’d April on the heel
Of limping Winter treads.
– William Shakespeare
A little madness in the Spring
Is wholesome even for the King.
– Emily Dickinson
The sun was warm but the wind was chill.
You know how it is with an April day.
– Robert Frost
Oh, give us pleasure in the flowers today;
And give us not to think so far away
As the uncertain harvest; keep us here
All simply in the springing of the year.
– Robert Frost
Winter’s done, and April’s in the skies,
Earth, look up with laughter in your eyes!
– Charles G. D. Roberts
An April Adoration, 1896
Everything is blooming most recklessly; if it were voices instead of colors, there would be an unbelievable shrieking into the heart of the night. – Rainer Maria Rilke
