Chic at NYFW: Misha Nonoo Fall 2014
by habituallychic
02 . 10 . 14You might not be hearing about it on the news but I’m sure you’ve seen on twitter and instagram that it’s fashion week in New York. My approach to attending shows in recent years has been to support some new talent in between all my favorites. While Misha Nonoo is not new, it was first time at her runway show. I knew the minute I took my seat and read the run of show notes that I was going to love it. Misha was inspired by “architect Louis Kahn’s design philosophy on natural light and space, demonstrated at the Kimball Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas.” It was this that led to the weaving and cut outs and a play of textures. I especially loved the fur trimmed coats with their relaxed silhouette. Misha’s husband is online auction site Paddle 8 founder Alexander Gilkes so it looks like art appreciation runs in the family. You can also see more of Misha on The Fashion Fund documentary series.
