Simplicity in Saint Germain
by habituallychic
12 . 09 . 13Veranda posted pics of this apartment in the Saint Germain neighborhood of Paris on Instagram and now it has me even more excited to rent an apartment next year. It also makes me want to order a new sofa upholstered in a blue/black linen fabric. I love how all the dark accents and gilt frames pop off the light walls. I’m also surprised that nothing was hung above the bed. But sometimes it’s nice to leave a place for the eye to rest. I’m sad to say though that I think the designer, David Gieseman, passed away in 2011. He had been born in Ohio and lived in New York City before moving to Paris in 1977. I would like to think that he’d be happy to know that others are thinking of following in his footsteps and still admiring his lovely apartment.

I’m telling you -renting an apartment is where it’s at!
Beautiful home. Thank you for passing this on! xo Nancy
I would love to stay at a home like David’s in Paris. I am so sorry to hear of his passing…

Such a lovely space. All of it!
I loved this! Perfect!
I’m with you on that blue black linen upholstery.
I absolutely love the St. Germain neighborhood! So beautiful & posh – love it! This apartment is gorgeous…I wish I could afford to rent something like that whenever I go. Out of all the arrondisments I’ve ever rented in, the 6th is my favorite! Maybe we’ll see each other next year as I will also be living in Paris in 2014, for at least 3 months starting in March. We’ll see…my stay always gets extended every time I go! 🙂
I love St. Germain–this apartment speak volumes of the owner.
