Modern Visionaries Lecture Series & Giveaway

It seems like we’re always talking about the same people online.  It makes me wonder if there is anyone left undiscovered or under the radar.  That’s why I’m loving the upcoming lecture series from The Decorators Club called Modern Visionaries: Women of Design.  While some of the designers might be known to you like Ruby Ross Wood and Maria Pergay, I had never heard of Vanessa Bell, Beatrix Ferrand, or Suzanne Belperron.  The lectures start on Wednesday, October 3rd and run through March 2013.  You can attend just one lecture for $30 or buy tickets to all five lectures for $125. To order tickets click here. The best part is that the money raised from the lecture series benefits The Decorators Club Education Fund and goes 
toward scholarships for interior design students. 
The Decorators Club has also generously offered a pair of tickets to one of the lectures for a lucky Habitually Chic reader.  Just leave a comment on this post with your name and which lecture you would like to attend to be entered.  One entry per person may be received until 11:59pm on Friday, October 5, 2012.  I will announce a winner on Saturday, October 5, 2012.  Again, if you email me directly, you will be disqualified. Sorry you won’t be able to attend the first lecture on October 3rd but I think you’ll enjoy one of the other four options.

    So true, it makes you want to go back in time to meet and research the unsung designers who made design what it is today! Very interesting must hit that lecture!

    I would love to attend the Beatrix Farrand Lecture while I am visiting NYC on October 17. I own a copy of Beatrix Farrand’s Plant Book for Dumbarton Oaks and have referred to it many times in designing my own garden. Not only have I referred to her very detailed book but have visited Dumbarton Oaks many, many times to enjoy Ms. Farrand’s incredible knowledge of Landscape Design.
