The Chicest Hair Salon
by habituallychic
09 . 27 . 11Fashion week moves to Paris as do all the editors, buyers and bloggers. I bet a few of them will be visiting the David Mallett hair salon for a brushing which is what the French call a blow out. If I ever move to Paris, I’m going to David Mallett just so I can hang out in his gorgeous salon. The Australian born hairstylist has lived in Paris for 18 years and is a frequent visitor to the flea markets and antique shops. He decorated the entire salon and his own apartment although, I’ve only seen a few tiny photos of the latter. I hope French AD is working on a feature because if it’s anything like the salon, I’m sure I will love it.

This is so impossibly chic… I would kill to have my hair cut and styled amongst taxidermy peacocks and an ostrich.
This is amazing!!! Thanks for sharing!
a hair salon is not worth visting if it doesn’t have a taxidermy ostrich 😉 joking aside, marble desk is divine
Seems nice but I wonder how much room they have left for the stylists to work, seem to close for stylist to client talking without bothering everyone and I must say I totally hate sitting infront of a full mirror…
ps. wood flooring and small clipped hair not good…
By far, that is the most beautiful hair salon I’ve ever seen!
Stylish, to be sure. But I would have omitted the smell-absorbing taxidermy! Hopefully those were just placed for the publicity photos, on loan from Deyrolle.
That is a very interesting use of an ostrich. Is that stuffed? Well, I daresay, I do agree. That must be the chicest hair salon I’ve ever seen! Very cool.
The ostrich is the best use of taxidermy I have EVER seen! Never thought I would say it but I love it!
The Willy Daro-style lamps are fantastic. I’ve always wanted a stuffed ostrich…. Thanks. Mary
Gorgeous! Better book your appointment now!
beautiful but I’m not sure how the stylists do any color with dim lighting.
I managed a salon for a number of years and it by far was our biggest issue [next to gossip] was dealing with proper lighting.
He’s the only one I let touch my hair! I can tell you I love going there!

I can’t believe that’s a hair salon! Gorgeous! It’s so clean… wonder if it actually stays that way
Yum! I think I could move right in! And if I did at least my hair would look good 24/7…
Aww, this is so gorgeous! I love the style and the colors and the atmosphere…so Parisian chic!
