Kaufmann House, Palm Springs

Since I mentioned that Derek Lam was inspired by Richard Neutra’s 1946 Kaufmann House in Palm Springs, I thought it might be nice to post some photos.  You can read the full story about the house in a post that I wrote in 2008 here. Photographer Slim Aarons and Julius Shulman were also enamored by the house and both shot it many times.  Definitely looks like a great place to relax in Derek’s Spring 2012 collection.

Thank you for posting this! It is amazing how the people in the photos really date the images, but the architecture looks every bit as fresh and clean as the work being built today.
