A Walk Through Nassau

Every designer whether they work with fashion or interiors will tell you that travel is the best source of inspiration.  No where was that more true than in Nassau.  The pink color of so many of the buildings looked  beautiful against the bright blue sky but everywhere I looked I saw a fabulous color.  I especially loved the bright red shutters on the stone house and the colorful mural above.  Pink is definitely not my favorite color but in this island context, it was perfect.  Some homes looked like they were about one hurricane away from collapsing but I definitely preferred their patina and age to the mega-mall like new buildings on Paradise Island.  Of course, what I really liked most was the gorgeous warm weather!  Enjoy!

Love these pics. Thank you so much. I’m so glad to know that parts of the beautiful Nassau I remember still exist. Gawd – the beautiful Balmoral hotel was turned into a Sandals Resort. Heartbreaking.

    Thanks,
    Liza

Enchanting island. Can you image what it was like in its hay day? There are so many wonderful buildings around these crazy little island.
Nice to see someone enjoying them and not focusing on buying another straw handbag.

A few nice pics but I think it’s time to move past your trip now and get back to your more inspiring and interesting postings. Apart from the sunglasses feature and some designer residences, this series has felt a slight shade above sitting at a friend’s having to watch the slide show of their trip. May be interesting to you but not as much to others.
