I really wanted to post some of my photos from Versailles today but my computer had other ideas.  Now I have to run to a meeting at a magazine so I’m leaving you with these photos from French designer Frederic Mechiche’s flat in the Marais area of Paris.  I will try to add some details when I get home later but I think you will see that a picture is worth a thousand words when it comes to this amazing home.  I think it’s now one of my all time favorites.  A tout à l’heure!

I wonder if he would like a slightly older female roommate…LOVE his flat!

Literature and art, heaven, and the rooms have a lot of movement, extra plus!

Thanks for these photos. I’ve been a fan of his since I first saw these rooms in the 90s. (In decor mags, not in person alas.) Every single thing is exquisite.

I was wondering if you knew the source of those chrome lamps (the ones that point light up instead of down). They’re gorgeous.

This is a very sexy place! Wow! It’s a mix of new, old, modern, traditional, wow! It reminds me a little of Vicent Wolf. And yes, he’s sexy too. His design that is.. lol

I’ve loved this flat since the first time I saw it in WOI. If I recall it correctly, it is in an old garage building, where he brought in all of the bouiserie, but I could be confusing that with someone else’s… Reggie

Love the bookcases under the stairs and that tub! Modern lighting provides such a nice mix.

I love this place. That staircase, those bookshelves, the floor – beautiful, but not so precious you’re afraid to walk on it. Love the mix of styles and eras.

Love this flat…gorgeous but livable. It’s great how the artwork is incorporated into the space. You feel like you’re living with the art and not in a museum.

Love the old film reels sitting near the TV!!! Great design–modern, but still looks comfy!

No mater how many times I see images of Mechiche’s home, I am still astounded by its ethereal beauty and simplicity. Thanks. Mary
