La Rentrée

The French have a lovely term for returning to normal life in September after their August vacation. It’s called la rentrée and I think it’s a perfect name for today. It was exactly a year ago today that I returned from Paris. These fabulous photos of Raquel Zimmermann by Terry Richardson shot in Paris reminded me of that wonderful trip. I also love the outfits which are great look for transitioning into autumn. I know the old fashion rules dictate that you can’t wear white after Labor Day but I think this rule is meant to be broken. I am actually wearing white jeans today which can be worn for a few more days or weeks depending on the weather. I think they look great with a blue shirt and navy blazer or an oatmeal colored cashmere sweater. They are definitely helping me enjoy my rentrée!

I love each of these ensembles and they are so easy to replicate for Fall! I am so inspired to add some great pieces to my fall wardrobe, except, I am 6 months pregnant!!! A girl can make believe for now….

Gorgeous pics and love, love, love the jacket in the fourth photo with all of the embellishments! Yum. Even though I wasn’t gone for August, I can pretend rentree if I wear clothes like this, no?
These photographs are beautiful. I agree with you on the white shirt and pants. It is 94 here today. I am going to wear as much white as I can. I d stop wearing white shoes only because I am tired of wearing them.

Oh my! it’s been a year I’ve been reading your blog!! I vividly recall reading your blog on what outfits you were going to take to Paris…your blog gets more enjoyable each day…
I love white and wear it all year, I guess I can since I live in Los Angeles, but when I was in New York winter white worked just as well.
