Art and Interiors on the Huffington Post
by habituallychic
08 . 26 . 10I was honored to be asked by artist Kimberly Brooks to curate a post on the Huffington Post and the subject of Art and Interiors seemed like a perfect fit. As someone who holds an art history degree, art will always be important in my life and also my work. A beautiful home will never feel finished unless it is filled with artwork that isn’t just bought as a prop but is meaningful to the owner. I can’t think of any other artist whose work is admired by so many and can be seen in so many different types of interiors than Cy Twombly. Hope you enjoy it!

Hi Heather, So well stated. Art is the deepest expression of its owner and should never be acquired with the view of filling a space or color-coordinating a room, This Cy Twombly room has been one of my favorite spaces for many years….so many elements blended to form one. Thank you for reminding me. Mary
Love this room. The art is the entrance into the soul of a room. All else can be around it’s presence.

love this post…thanks xxpeggy braswell
How fabulous!
Just wonderful. A beautifully curated collection of images…there is a lot to learn from these, for example that you don’t have to buy art that matches your color scheme. A great resource, thanks!
Great photo choices. Congratulations on a great feature, I enjoyed reading it.
It was a joy to see the Cy Twomblys this morning as I start my day! Inspirational art and informative curation! Thank you! Jean
Wonderful post. And yes, always a treat when you know a person’s art is more than a “prop” and has meaning attached; so well stated!
Love the main photo in this blog post…. such an interesting and unique space! Also, I read your Huffington Post piece… well executed! I could not help but notice – and love! – how the artist’s work blends with so many diverse types of decor. Enjoyed the photos so much!
Great collection! Twombly’s art lends itself to be used in so many different venues.
Neutral and sophisticated, as in Aerin Lauder’s apartment…to the colorful and bold, as in the Gramercy Park hotel.
Very well done – congrats!
