Tomorrow is the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Governor’s Island which will I’m sure attract throngs of girls trying to catch a glimpse of Nacho Figueras (above) and Prince Harry. If you can’t attend this fabulous event, then I suggest you pick up Polo: The Nomadic Tribe, the stunning book by photographer Aline Coquelle. Usually when you think of Polo, you think of England but the book also chronicles polo played in India on Elephants and in Switzerland on snow in addition to Palm Beach, Pakistan and Argentina. It’s an amazing book full of gorgeous horse and beautiful men. What could be better than that?! Oh, that it’s on sale for $30 at Barneys! Bon Weekend!

    What’s not to love!?!
I recall being on a trip to Argentina and attending a final of the nations two top teams.
The atmosphere was electric and SO much eye-candy I ended up being a tad swoony,
Thank you for the images and the book lead.

PS We ended up souveniring cut-down versions of the mallets and balls from the match, which we haul out every Christmas for a modiified version resembling croquet-hockey and leaving us all with bruised ankles.

Much to see and love the sport!
Ponie and their riders are definately heating up this book. Dare I turn the pages?….it might ignite or combust before I get one home. Definately a read well read with a fire extinguisher handy!
    Thanks Heather,
so inspiring and the ponies are pretty too.

Great post especially for an ex polo player. I can’t wait to buy this book. There is nothing in the world like polo playing men and not just the Argentinians are hot…although they are in their own sphere of hotness.

Only $30! I might need several as ‘thank you’ gifts for my single female interior design clients!!!

As an Argentine myself, I so thank you for this post! I love Polo and I can’t wait for my little boy, Liam Sebastian, to one day take it up.

Love ponies and pony riding boys!!

Speaking of which, since you love Hermes, which makes saddles, and Ralph Lauren, which is also always so equestrian, and since we’re talking about ponies, maybe, just maybe you could have a post of any images of saddles being displayed as part of interior design…

Maybe this is because I just got a new saddle, but don’t have a barn to keep it in and am not quite sure how to incorporate it into the decor. 🙂

Sending all good vibes your way, Heather!
