Icons by an Icon

04 . 28 . 10I love how in New York the art isn’t always confined to the museums and galleries. Tod’s commissioned the famed photographer Elliott Erwitt to shoot 22 prominent families for its new exhibition called Icons by an Icon. It’s also another example of what I like to call stealth marketing. Each photo contains a pair of Tods shoes or a bag but the photos are more about presenting a lifestyle than hitting you over the head with the product which I quite prefer. No word yet if they will be bound into a book like the Italian’s photographed for Italian Touch but you can view them at the Tod’s boutique on Madison right now. Enjoy!

l-o-v-e these shots – so effortlessly cool in that elusive old-money lifestyle type of way. i’ll have to pop over to their shop after work. xo, Jane
It helps that everyone has such great classic style in these photos! I love this.
What a great campaign — I love the woman plucking a weed from the garden in her Tod’s.
I love these shots, especially the first two. Don’t find the swimming pool picture quite so comfortable to look at.
How much fun it must be to put together an ad campaign like this – great idea!

Fabulous photos – tres chic! KG
Love this…the last one is so crazy!
Very pretty pictures. The thing I really like about them is how relaxed and fun they look, very nice ‘candid’ shots.

And of course, they’ve made me want a new pair of loafers!
Stunning photography…I can’t stop looking!
LOVE these! The little cottage at top is my dream house ; )

brilliant in every way… xx
Great shots, and an amazing marketing concept. God, I love smart marketing!!
LOVE the photographs and the idea of “not-in-your-face” marketing of a fashion brand. I really relate to the second photo of the mom surrounded by her houligans – I wish I could look so calm and collected!
I smell a good coffee table book if there ever was one! I’d be first in line to buy…
Gorgeous!
Brilliant concept, brilliant photography, brilliant post! Kudos!
